at beerweekend de lambiekstoempers 2014 . Pours rather unclear , brown to amber . Small white head . Smell is bit sweet, sugar overkill . Taste is bit bitter , spices , bit dry . Taste is gone very fast . OK , but some of the spices are off here .

Bottle @ home. Weird murky amber colour with a medium sized white head. Smells herbs, yeast, weird. Tastes sourish, raisins, herbs and spices, plants. Medium body, medium carbo.

Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus. Hazy reddish color, average to medium sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly sweetish, lightly herbal, a touch of sourish wood, yeast and I also get a touch of brett. Intended? Doubtful, but it’s ok. Drinkable, but not really my kind of beer.

Alengrin (1716) - BELGIUM - AUG 21, 2014
Amber-coloured session ale with yellowish white, delicate, very stable head and ravishing deep copper colour, clear, but turning hazy after adding the deposit, as it should be. Nose gets walnuts, sweet melon, peach and strawberry, flowers, caramel candy, rhum beans, cloves and vanilla. In the mouth a vivid play between the sharpish nut-like malts and a sweetness of dried fruits, all under a medium carbonation, but not leading to a satisfying ’happy end’, not enough hops for balance and not enough body, finish even a bit thin. Could have been a lot better.

Bottle at Reading Beer Festival 2014. Lightly cloudy orange with little head. Dry hop aroma, fruity with apricot notes. Very dry spiced beer, yet tasty. Went down well but it wasn’t earth shattering.

Bottle from the brewery stand at Zythos. Hazy orange. Fruity, yet bitter. Long full flavour. Elegant.

Mooie donkere caramelkleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt zoetig, gebrande mouten, caramel, rood fruit. Smaakt zoetig, fruit, caramel, kers. Een ietwat zoet biertje.

Hazy orange colour, foamy off-white head. Thin aroma. Taste is big on malts, grainy and sweet, a little fruity (peach) and acidic and quite bitter. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, fresh but a bit oily mouthfeel.

33cl bottle, DHVL pairing suggestion with their rich 4-cheese lasagne, pre-NvdGD 2014. Nose of Peach, subtle apricot upon pouring the characteristic Belgian yeast. Gentle fruit basket. As if timeclocked: later gentle yeast&hop bitters. Mango-peach aftertaste without any sweetness. Lingering yeast pillows. Good, but odd pairing.
