I have a very old one (over three years old and if I remember correctly it is from the first brew. Cloudy amber beer with an off-white head. Aroma has a lot of Bretts in it and is very similar to Orval (I had an Orval yesterday so I can make a good comparison). Flavor is malty, fruity and a nice sourness. Again very similar to Orval. The finish is malty where the Orval has some bitterness. An excellent beer certainly if you have the chance to taste an old one. BTW the infection with Brettanomyces Brusseliensis was intented and not an accident.

Bottle(ale)Pours a very pretty hazy red with a tall off white head. Aroma is very strong but pleasant. Apples and pear with a hint of cinnamon. Lovely. First sip reveals some initial sweetness again in the vain of an apple cider, but breaks with some really good and fresh tasting hops. This beer screams fresh to me. The hops are very in your face and make this extremely refreshing. Drinkabliity is through the roof. An amazing ale from a brewer I need to get to know!

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2008 Bottle, 33 cl. Amber color, off-white head. Aroma caramel malts. Taste: light sweet, good bitter end. Medium body. Re tasted on 30.08.08: WOW this is like Orval some Zythos people have told that and we did this morning the test @ Proefzolder Alvinne. Great beer ! Its true the flavou is really close to Orval. (not the color and specialy aroma)

UPDATED: APR 14, 2009 Off-white, creamy head. Clear, amber body. Aroma of caramel, acid, bretts, wood, fruits, freshly mowed grass. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Lightly to medium bodied. Fruity flavour, well balanced and a bit sharp. Very decent.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. Aroma of Belgian ale, hops and spicy, a bit like Orval. Medium body structure, dry malt flavor and caramel, bold bitterness, very spicy, leaving that kind of astringency and metal feeling similar to an Orval. Strong carbonation. Very good.

Bottle at DHL. Cloudy golden color, massive thick white head. Aroma of rising bread dough and bread crusts. Taste is very malty with some fresh citrus. Nice.

(Bottled, BBE 11/2009) Very hazy reddish amber with a huge, creamy and tanned head. Tart, nutty-almondy-malty aroma with some graininess. Slightly tart, dryish maltiness with yeast and a bit harsh bitterness in the flavor (softens with yeast and warming up). Medium-bodied with quite high, but soft carbonation. Seems like Orval has been the inspiration in more than the ABV - as well as Grottenbier. Slight homebrew-harshness, and lack of hops keep it from reaching the goal - but nevertheless it’s a pretty nice brew.

Bottle, Thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a cloudy reddish/orange with a VERY good head, almost too good, I actually thought it may be infected from what I seen, but it was not. Aroma has a very nice acidic/fruity aroma, makes you want to smell it over and over, very nice. Flavor is fruity, acidic type flavor with a little tang...hell, maybe there may have been some kind of infection, not sure, but it works for this beer. Mouthfeel is light -medium with high carbonation, Over all, very enjoyable beer! I want this again!

Bottle. Amber colour with a big, rocky offwhite head. Fruity aroma with berries blending with chocolate and pepper. Berries and dry chocolate flavours provide a very good balance. Peppery and some alcohol. Fluffy mouthfeel. Impressive.
