IPAís are in fashion these days, they appear everywhere. This speciment is a bit of a disappointment for me. It lacks in character with respect of others I have tasted. A big plus is the appearence, which is nicely orange with a good head, the way an IPA should be. The taste is although nice fruity a bit empty in the aftertaste. An easy drinking beer, but there are betters in the same class.

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne; bb 02/2016
Hazy amber color, small head. The aroma is not as hoppy as desired. The mouthfeel is very smooth; quite malty, moderately sweet; strong bitterness, with the hop providing a fair amount of resins but not enough fruits and freshness. In the final there is a warming alcohol feeling.
Good beer, but nothing exceptional.

Bottle thanks to Nikos. Pours hazy orange with a small beige head that dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is caramel, pine, melon. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, melon, grapefruit, pine, bread, caramel. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. A bit aged, methinks, but holding up well.

Bottle from Taniguchi. Big nose of grapefruit, orange, minerals. Dry and metallic. Pretty orange-amber with lace. Sweet citrus and caramel, bitter finish. Very sweet in a 7-Up way, then harsh and bitter. Out of balance. Cloying. Weird. Not impressed.

maekchu (2509) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 7, 2015
Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Piney hop nose, a bit earthy, some tropical fruit, and caramel. Dark reddish/orange color, thin head, and fat-bubble lace. Citrusy, thick fruit initial, with mango, orange, lemon. Serious hopping kicks in. Sweetness intensifies in late mid and final. Medium-heavy body, warm on the tongue. Very flavorful, a bit cloying in mid. Bold nose. Maybe a little too thick on the palate.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2014 A great collaboration. Perfect amber with beatiful white head. Very rich and fresh aroma of fruits, citrus, pine needles. It already filled the room before I finished pouring it. Taste is built of very well balanced bitterness with light malty background. Surprisingly drinkable, very enjoyable beer.
