Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Oct 16, 2006 Bottle (from Bitter Virtue). Alcohol noticeable but fairly restrained. Peppery yeast, sweet malts and a touch of boiled sugar. Light herbal grassy hops. Becomes a bit sweet in the end without enough bitterness to round it off. Fairly enjoyable for a while just not particulary drinkable. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2006 Fresh green apples, coriander brown sugar cinnamon aroma. amber orange opaque with right cloud white head. Yeasty green apple pie with coriander and other spices, tangy. Chewy malt, plenty of flavor. Yeast makes it a bit gamey. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2006 No date, must be pretty recent. Bronze. Large, dense, rocky white top. Nose of sour apples and pears, must, past ripe melons, zesty yeast, sugar. Sweet, floral, and sour up front. Finishes sour, bitter, and dry. Big earthy and bitter hops in the second half and finish. Balances the sweetness and then some. Spicy notes throughout, also. Medium/full body with lively carbonation that matches the flavor very well. Great brew. Love this brewery. Funk guaranteed. gnoff (3559), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 8, 2006 Updated: Nov 21, 2008(33 cl bottle at The Rover, Göteborg) Shady orange color, tan head. Sweet fruity and alcohol scent. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Sweet taste, a bit bitter aftertaste. Nice but maybe a bit too high alcohol level since it’s rather noticeable... 7/3/6/4/12=3.2 - Rerate (Bottle at het Amsterdamertje, Göteborg, Sweden) Cloudy orange color, fluffy white head. Hoppy and acidic scent. Spicy, bitter taste. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness. 8/2/7/3/14=3.4 Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Oct 7, 2006 Cloudy brown color, large off white head that had a long hang time then faded slowly to leave a nice lace behind. The aroma was malty with a slight spicy side some hints of fruit and a mild sweetness coming through as well. The flavor was pretty decent all around with a nice sweetness to it some good citrus notes and a mild spicy side make this a fairly well rounded brew. The alcohol is there but manages to be fairly well hidden with just a slight warming in the end.Over all i’d have to say this is a pretty good brew and well worth having a few more around for later. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Oct 5, 2006 Huge creamy offwhite head over hazy brown body. Acidic, spicy, yeasty aroma of wood. Taste is deep, spicy malts with cinnamon, spice notes. Tart, spicy cinnamon aftertaste. Powerful, drinkable, balanced, interesting. An excellent beer.
