| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Large white head. Sediment in beer. Honey fairly clear color. Strong Citrus clove smell. Sweet and creamy initially to the palate. Not to bitter with hops. Uses the same type of hops as the Zatte. Hops are unique tasting and tempered nicely by malt. They are bitter but meaty and well rounded. Believe it or not it’s like liver to me. For a 9% the alcohol is very well hidden. Has a bitter trail. Papsoe (14895), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) There ought to be hop-alert printed somewhere on this beer, this truly is a bitter beer. Dutch beers this strong are usually malty and sweet, and even though this certainly contains some malty sweetness the hops overpower everything. A spicy, aromatic bitterness - but bitter indeed. Very bitter. Dark amber with a gigantic, beige shaving foam-like head. A truly unusual beer. 210304 jtw (942), farmington, Michigan, USA

Hazy orange-brown, huge slightly off-white head. Orvasl-like aroma: lemon and leather. Lemon acidy, bitter flavor with long acidy aftertaste with grassy notes and a bit of Jägermeister. Alcoholic punches. Slightly restless palate but otherwise another good brew from ’t IJ. William (181), Utrecht, Netherlands
