| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2004 Beautiful frothy light tan head on an unclear amber orange body. Yeast is donimating in the aroma. Also dark malt, spices, pepper, and fruit. Flavor is yeasty and spicy and very full. Good bitterness and a nice warming alcohol bite. A fine and interesting beer. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2004 Pours a clear light copper with a dense beautiful silky white head that leaves some fine strings of lace behind. Mild bready Belgian yeast and caramel malt aroma has some dry musty barnyard character to it. Starts with a touch of sweetness and thick syrupy texture. Nicely hoppy for a Belgian and pretty well balanced. Reminds me a bit of Orval. Suttree (2708), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2004 Small foam eruption when bottle is opened, which is kinda cool. Cloudy brown, big tan head. Aroma of pears, chewing tobacco, and bourbon. initial flavors of smoke and fruit, with a pronounced alcohol burn through the finish. hAl (10), Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2004 Easy to drink strong beer. Especially from tap you can easily drink too much of it. Sweet and spicy beer. Koriander and citrus taste. Strong and dry but somewhat silky so it is smoother than you might expect. Especially good as a draft beer. A lot less from bottle. clealry a beerto drink in Amsterdam where several bars serve it on tap. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 5/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2004 Cloudy yellow orange color. It was a ok beer. Nothing great. Aroma is yeasty, and sour. Not a favorite. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 11, 2004 The more I have from this brewery, the more I regret buying these beers. Pours a cloudy orange-yellow, with some floaties and a massiveoff-white head. Aroma is yeasty, sour, and somewhat fruity, but doesn't mesh well at all. Full bodied and malty, but sharply sour and has an almost pungent finish. Not something that I want to have again. fomentateur (110), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 9, 2004 Columbus pours wonderful with a nice golden color and a short tight white head. I am very impressed that the bottle has held up as well as it has. Although it doesn't pour out of the bottle as well as the draught version at the brewery (with a huge white head) I will settle for the bottle. Somewhat pungent aroma, crisp malt flavor, and slight alcohol burn for an exeptionally balanced finish.
