COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An amber, craft beer with generous amounts of hops and alcohol. This copper-gold beer is a real heavyweight and a must for beer lovers. The liberal quantities of malt and bitter hops create a complex, full flavour. It starts as slightly sweet with malty aromas of chocolate, fruit and grain, while the bitter hops stand out nicely in the aftertaste. A feast for the connoisseur!

Have been drinking this since the 80s, but not recently... From 33 cl bottle. Red color, slightly hazy. Off white head. Aromas: sweet, herbal/spices, yeast, some fruit. Retronasal: caramel, sweet, bitter, yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet & moderate bitter. Rather strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Long finish, moderate bitter. Nice!

Draft at brewery. Hazy copper with medium off white head and nice lacing. Aroma of grains and a hint of hops and spice notes. Medium body with a nice malt presence and a bitter hop finish. Wish the nose has as much hop presence as the taste.

Ein simples, klassisches Strong Ale ohne grosse Punkte. Malzig, mit einem guten Bumms Alkohol, ordentlich Kohlensaeure und etwas Getreide. Ganz nett.

Nice fruity slightly sweet taste with flavor of herbs and yeast with a good hoppy bitter finish. Not the most subtle but a very original ale. I never had anything quite like it. It is strong but the alcohol is not dominant. I am lucky to live in Amsterdam and have t IJ as a local brewer.

Bottle. Hazy amber, tiny frothy off-white head, lasts for a while, thin layer remains, a bit lacing; sweet malty toasted nose, bread, caramel, cloves, coriander, cinnamon, citrus, dough; light to medium sweet, light bitterness, spicy tones; full-bodied, oily texture, creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation; dry bitter lingering finish, slightly sweet with fruity en spicy tones. Smooth flavour, you dont taste the alcohol.

Hazy amber with a white, thin, lacy lasting head. Looks deep. Smells of toasted malt, yeast, caramel, and coriander almost other light spices. Medium frothy oily body. Tastes of yeast and coriander with sweet malt and finishes with a hop bitter grassy finish. Decent enough.

Cloudy amber, tiny head that leaves some nice islands. Green apple, yeast, white grapes, cloves, kiwi, orange. Very fruity, with a big punch of yeast and a nice malt balance. Finishes again with lots of fruit. Medium sweet, balanced by yeasty bitterness. Medium mouth with quite a lot of carbonation. Nice.

Rusty, orange colour. Aroma of orange peel. Flavour has some bitter citrus and also some spice and banana. Overall just a bit too sweet.
