3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Allen (2394) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 30, 2009
Bottled 33cl- dainty bottle as shown on this panel. Murky orange with a huge head. Faint unpleasant rotten grass showing up in the nose. Slightly astringent- poor palate. Sweet with aroma hops all the way through. Mediocre yeasty finish. Tripel-style in my opinion. Interesting but rather dissapointing and far from being really pleasant- I really love the t IJ Struis.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Vaiz (1847) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 17, 2009
Pours a murky amber color with a very thick solid off-white head. Initially the aroma was quite overwhelming acidic, but it quickly became better. Some citrus, a bit spicy, quite hoppy. Flavor is slightly sweet, but mostly bitter. Actually quite good. Very creamy carbonated texture. Long bitter finish.

At the brewery. Hazy amber with a low head. Incredible malty aromas: chocolate, walnuts and berries. The flavour is very balanced, being primarily sweet but also bordering on a bit of acid/citric hoppiness towards the end.

Had this on tap at the brewpub, Amsterdam, 27th Oct 2009 Pours hazy orange/mid amber in fact a touch puddly looking, there is a slim white head. Light spicy nose with possibly a touch of ginger powder. Wonderfully fruity and spicy beer, nice warmth from the alcohol, lovely citrus tang, some tropical fruit, good thrusty bitterness. Lovely beer in a great brewpub. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov16 3.9
