Very foamy stuff. Rather earthy aroma with some sour notes and hints of spices. Flavour is really spicy, sour and somewhat tart with earthy notes. Belgian ale with really stinging spices – and a ’t IJ twist.

On Tap @ the. Brewpub The head is robust and creamy. The taste is defensive alcoholic-flowery, creamy, strong malty and hoppy. A bit like cherry-liqueur. Special, interesting and good! 12/10/9/11/-11

Moderately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft cara-malty and wheaty taste with yeasty spice, citric and herbal hops; dry-ish and moderately hop bitter finish with herbal and yeasty spices. Pleasantly hoppy brew. 19.XII.10

Nice. Keeps foaming for ages, has that special IJ flavor. Sweet and nice warming alcohol. Might be the nicest 25th anniversary Bierkoning beer I’ve had.

The beer in the glass is bright orange, with a fine pearly head. Very yeasty, fruity aroma, slightly sour smell. Starts yeasty spicy, sour and fruity. The middle part shows very yeasty and spicy, with fruity notes and some aroma hops in the background. Goes into a bitter-hoppy, yeasty and sour, slightly fruity finish!
