Our bokbier that rings in the autumn every year. Dark and full-bodied, but not as sweet as you would expect. The fine, light brown head holds for a long time while the dark, black-brown beer releases the aromas of the roasted malt: brown sugar, caramel and beautiful, dark fruit. The aftertaste is pleasantly dry.

Roasty sweet aroma. Deep amber color with nice off-white head. Moderately sweet with a slight alcohol note, a bit bready and spiced.

330ml Bottle (Moeders, Amsterdam) - Dark brown in colour. Raisins, toffee and some treacle in the aroma. Malty, fruity and slightly ’chewy’ taste with black treacle, raisins, marzipan and a hint of spice. An enjoyable bock.

Drank with Bram while watching Lillyhammer 09-02-2014. Okay beer. The taste is fine, but not very impressive. A bit weak. Average.

33cl flesje via Gall & Gall, Maastricht Alcoholpercentage van 6,5% Uitgeschonken in Brand Dubbelbock glas Uiterlijk: koperbruin zoals een typische bok normaal, mooie luchtige schuimkraag Aroma en smaak: gebrande mouten, caramel, donker fruit, zoetbitter Conclusie: lekkere bok, maar niet heel erg onderscheidend ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Brouwerij ?t IJ, Amsterdam. Slightly hazy amber colour, off-white stable foamy head. Milky coffee, dried and red fruits, spicy herbal tones (clove, pepper) and sweet malts. Light dry finish. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel, not too big bodied.

Bottiglia 33cl regalo, bevuta a casa. Color caramello con schiuma piuttosto persistente. Bella bock, malto evidente e finale un po' ruvido con una punta che ricorda legna affumicata. Buona ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

33cl bottel, best before 03.2015. Frisch-malziger Antrunk. Spannendes Bier!

A really nice, even slightly smoky tasting bokbier. Has a thick texture that you can almost chew. Much better than most Dutch offerings this season.

Bottle. Nice deep brown with ruby hue and fast disappearing cream head. Very spicy with lots of IJ yeast, some wood, dark burnt caramel, roasted malts and toffee. Nice hoppy bitter finish. Quite dry and not very sweet. Medium bodied. One of the better Dutch bok beers.

0.33L tap. Pours red with an off-white head. Aroma is fairly mild: cereal malts and some roasty smells. Flavor is mild sweet with cereal grain, but then quickly transitions to herby hop and yeasty bitterness. Medium-full body with a sticky mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, not bad. Good malt character, decently balanced, but not much complexity.
