COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Pours a murky brown colour with little carbonation. Sweet, roasted malty aroma, some sour notes there. Taste is a nice balance of sweet and bitter, some notes of roasted malts and bread. Goes down smooth with a good body.

Drinking from a 33cl bottle. In the aroma red fruit. The clear brown beer has a medium off-white head. In the taste I recognize walnuts. Sweet taste though. High carbonated.

Nice yeasty and fruit Belgian dubbel, yet with some countering bitterness from the aroma hops. Good.

Appearance: Verry Dark amber color with a good 2 finger sized head. good retention, nice lacing. Aroma: Roasted malts, nuts band a light citryus tone. Taste: slightly sweet with a bit of brown sugar, caramel, nuts, some roastyness, and some fruityness (citrus) giving a hint of sourness to balance in the end finishing some earthy tones with some hops. medium body, average carbonation I really underestimated this in the past. If your looking for a not sweet abbey double, then get this
