COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Onhelder donker bruin, lichtbruine kraag. Smaak van geroosterde mout, caramel en gist, bruine suiker en wat donker fruit. Niet mijn stijl, maar voor een dubbel prima.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy brown pour with thin white head. Aroma is fruity, caramel, raisins. It has a rather characteristic american malt aroma, rather typical of north american takes on the belgian style, which sticks is a bit strange being so close to Belgium. Taste is sweet, light toasted malt flavor, fruity, berry finish. Palate is med-full bodied with medium carbonation. Decent.

Tasted on draft 09/02/2014. Red/amber colour with caramel and malt taste on the mouth. The appearance is nice with some head and all is very balanced. Next one please!

Bottle pours hazy copper red with an off white frothy head. Aroma of caramel, clove, spice, roasted grain. Taste is light clove, grain, slight alcohol warmth, caramel, and earthy hop. Medium-light body with a slightly bitter finish.

Warning exploded like a young girl with her favorite pop star for the first time. Open over a sink. 330 ml bottle found in my cellar. Pours a cloudy brown with a fast to go off white head. Aroma is dark fruits, alcohol, and glue. Taste is dark wood and mellow herbs. Palate was smoother than expected. I was really in a bad mood after this one decorated my livingroom but its not bad. .
