Draught @ ’t Ij, Amsterdam. Hazy brown. Dried fruits and caramelised malts with mild brambly hops and light tart yeastiness. Pleasantly drinkable.

Wonderful on tap in the windmill brewery: Malty with raisons and also hoppy aroma and flavor. Nice amber body with hints of orange and a diminishing head. Fizzy carbonation, fullmouth and crisp. Weeh, balanced, this beer hits the spot!

Bottled 33cl. Nicely remaining head. Hints of clove and apple. Yeast accented. Slightly sour. Nothing special. Definitely not the best from this brewery.

(Bottle) Pours deep redish to nut brown. Nuts and caramel in aroma with Some funky chocolate and notes of liquorice root. Some fruits, dried apricots and raisins. Earty undertones and a light hoppyness. Light roasted, caramel flavour with some toffee, brown sugar and raisins. Lively carbonation. Sourish, light bitter finish. Medium body.

Bottle (in NZ). Plenty of spice on the nose, but ginger dominates. Was a lively pour, an unappealing cloudy light brown colour with a more redeeming foamy off white head. Fruity malt in the mouth at first, then giving way to spice - mostly pepper, but also cloves. On the lighter side for a Dubbel, but I enjoy the taste and would drink again.

This beer is just no good: it doesn’t look right, it doesn’t smell right, it doesn’t taste right. Only the carbs are ok for a 6.5 ABV.
