Dark amber, very cloudy. Rich head. Fruity chocolate aroma. Well-balanced fruity flavour that turns into an yeast-dry, somewhat sourish finish. Nice beer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 radiomgb (2078) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2008
Amber-brown in colour with a long lasting creamy off-white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma was lightly sour with some sweet caramel, fruits - apples and peaches. The flavour is sweet although sharp and acidic, some peaches, floral with some caramel. Lightly sour mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes again with some sourness, filling due to the high carbonation.
This is starting to fade although I have no idea how old this bottle was, the acitidy was starting to become a factor.
330ml bottle obtained in a trade with Beerlando, thanks Bryan.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lusikka (2062) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 25, 2011
330 ml bottle. BBE 06/2012.
Pours a hazy reddish brown colour with a small, off-white, quite thick and lacy head. Aroma of ripe fruits, caramel and some banana. Flavour of ripe, slightly sour fruits, caramel, malts, orange and yeast. Smooth, quite foamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very easy to drink and quite refreshing.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - JUL 26, 2005
Bottle: Lovely ruby dark amber colour, with a lasting beige head. Fruity aroma, with some plum and citrus notes. Spice there too. Flavour starts a little sweet, but remains quite dry all the way through. Mildly spicy notes evident, along with some caramel and dark fruit notes. Alcohol well disguised. Not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - APR 15, 2010
Bottle from beerlando. Hazy/murky, brown, mahogany edges. Aroma has a nice balance of nutty caramel and spice, can’t pinpoint. Clove? I don’t know. Flavor is sweet through and through. Caramel, candi sugar, roasted grain, light banana bread character as it warms. Hints of spice in the finish. Mouthfeel is spritzy, falls apart a tad. Little rough around the edges, but with the spice, sort of reminds me of Pannepot.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 CanIHave4Beers (2000) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - DEC 4, 2009
Pours a hazy reddish brown with a big head and a light lace. The aroma is of brown sugar nuts plenty of plum and a bit of red wine, and has a considerable mustiness. The flavor is nutty and sweet but well balanced. The beer is spicy and has notes of molasses alcohol raisin licorice and plenty of earthy tones. This is fantastic, all the flavors of a great dubbel with only 6.5% abv, I wish there were more out there like this.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 jeffc666 (1983) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - JUN 29, 2004
Dark swamp water brown body. The head is a dense light tan affair that has lasting power. Thearoma is not much to my liking, sweet malts and hints of garbage, not rank garbage but fresh garbage, if there is such a thing. The flavor also possess the garbage thing, up front at least, afterwards there is some sweet malt that all leads into a rather thin finish. Not very good, Belgian beer say hello to the Fairfax, VA sewers.

Pours dark reddish brown with a thin, mostly receding wispy light brown head. Aroma of cherries, sticky alefruits, raisins, toffee. Taste is sweet toffee malt, plum, raisins, and oak. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with slight stickiness and lush carbonation. Very interesting, dubbel-ish beer.
