COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

Pours a brown orange beer with a good white head. Smells licorice and caramel. Dont like it. Heavy laurier and licorice taste. Not really my kind of thing. Lively carbo, medium body and a sticky texture.

Pours hazy brown with thin tan head. Nose is yeasty. Aromas are roasty malts, chocolate, earth. Average carbonation and medium texture. Medium sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Pieter/Charlotte’s leaving party. Nice head, quite brown, another excellent Dubbel. It’s from a small microbrewer in A’dam. A bit sweet and thinner than most Dubbels.

Vrij vlakke dubbel. Heeft niet veel smaak. Korte zoete beknepen smaak. Geen knaller !

Bottle at Piraat. Hazy reddish brown with short lasting off white head. Lots of caramel, light spices, a bit of milk chocolate, grains and roasted hazelnuts, brown sugar, soft herbal bitter finish. Medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied with a light syrupy feel and quite some carbonation. Decent stuff.

Mooi donker bier met een kleine schuimkraag. Aroma is zoet. Smaak is wat droog. Verder heeft het niks om handen.

Lightly opaque red brown beer with warm highlights. Nice column bubbling. White head. Smell is sour bitter. Caramel and sourwood with vinegar and liquorice. Hints of wood, milk chocolate and cheese. Maybe some mustard. Interesting. Taste is sour sweet with a dry bitter finish. Quite refreshing. The sourness is more vinegar than citrus and balances well against the sweetness. Background of liquorice and sourwood. Medium body with a crisp fizziness.
