[Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Muddy dark amber, rich head. Evidently yeasty, orangey nose. Mdedium sweet with lively mouthfeel. Soap, yeast and orange dominates, the caramelly malt are barely perceptible underneath th efunky yeast character. A wild and interesting brew!

On tap at Brouwerij ’t Ij, Amsterdam on 3 April 2011. Murky dark copper-orange colour. Quite spicy. A little sweetness initially but develops a herbal bitter tang - hints of angostura - later. Some toffee / caramel and hints of stewed plums on the palate. Dryish, fairly firm mouthfeel, which is not always the case with Abbey Dubbels.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml at Cafe D’Engel, Delft. Cloudy amber with white head. Quite a spicy nose with a peppery note, some sharp bitter orange notes, quite skinny then a caramel aftertaste. Nice on a warm day sat in the square in Delft.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 rudolf (2229) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 8, 2008
Thanks to SoLan! An orangish/ruby body, craggy yellow-tan head. Nose is pie cherry funk, light citrus, toasty malt. Flavor is lighter cherry pie, medium toasty malt, light wheat, some caramel. Finish is too thin, empty.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ChristianSA (368) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 18, 2005
Bottle. Huge pillow like head on top of a red brown beer. First pour is brilliantly clear with some yeast to follow. Lemon like aroma with some apricots and melon. Flavor is very dry and slightly acidic followed by some yeastiness and light bitterness. I’m not sure if it is infected or just very funky as the rest of the beers from this quite interesting brewery. Heavy carbonation an thin mouth feel.

Bottle. Creamy white excellent fully lasting head. Cloudy amber colour. Light malty/hoppy/yeasty aroma. Ok flavor, but overwhealming mangonotes like other ’t IJ beers. Average finish. Oily palate but way too fizzy.
