3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JMFG (1582) - Florida, USA - APR 25, 2008
Bottle. Hazy copper color with a thick rocky near-white head that takes a few minutes to settle down. The aroma here is essentially just a moderate funk, but it has a light sweetness to it that keeps my nose in the glass. The taste is pretty bland, considering the aroma and the fact that it’s a t’IJ. The taste is grainy with a light funky finish. The other t’IJ brews that I’ve had come through in the taste department stronger, but this is still decent.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bikesandbeers (546) - san diego, California, USA - JAN 17, 2007
33cl bottle from AMS to SFO via LHR. upon cracking the bottle, I could tell it was an ’IJ beer with its fruity aroma with hints of spices. Plum is dominate with some rasin and cinmon. Flavor is moderately sweet with not much else too it. very carbonated. Not quite a dubbel, and a bit bland to be great but still a very solid beer.

Bottle. Pours a a nice amber-brownish colour with a big though short lasting head. Good champagne mouthfeel. The aroma is very malty with caramel and spices. The flavour ha s good toasty maltiness with caramel, spices, dark fruits and yeast. Toasty sweetish finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 slimchill (936) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Bottle. Very acidic nose, light cherry. Cloudy light brown with minimal head. Flavor is nothing like the nose. Only a touch of acidity, more sweetness, can‘t nail down the fruit. Palate is full bodied but very smooth.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 laiti (998) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 23, 2011
33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Rated on 07.08.2010
Somewhat sour aroma has caramel and candi sugar. Flavour has some earthy sourness, nuts, malt and hints of chocolate. A good dubbel, but I like the other ’t IJ products more. Somehow the sourness does not fit here perfectly.
