COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

330ml bottle in great company with Hege and OleR at Håndverkerstuene. Amber coloured body with a ruby tint. Diminishing grey-white head. Poor lacing. Aroma of dark malts, mid-sweet, and herbal hops. Peaches, plums and caramel malts in flavour. Sweet and bitter to the finish. Well balanced and fine with the lamb (Oslo, 15.09.2012).

At ’t IJ, Amsterdam. Malty, creamy brown. Thicker creamy head. Clean sweet malt, battery base, a little cocoa nib. Lighter body than I expected, and a little cider. Flavor OK but it doesn’t balance to my taste.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2016 Amberbruin, kleine kraag die snel inzakt. Moutig, suiker, verder niet heel veel aan de hand. Zoetig, waterig, zacht. Saai, eigenlijk.

Ocher brown color with foam ring. Caramel sweet christmas nose. Light roasty sweet taste with tiny hints of licorice and a rather boring aftertaste.

Bottle. Pure sweetness, low aroma, some candy and liquorice, some mint. Plain and rather boring, but nothing really off.

Kolor: ciemny br?z, kasztan, klarowny. Piana be?owa. Wysycenie wysokie.

Unclear, darkish brown with some red hue, small to medium beige head, decent lasting. Aroma is of toasted bread, nutty, some dark fruits, bit yeast. Taste is medium sweet brown sugar, toasted malt, toffee, nutty chocolate, some yeast, bit dark fruits, some bready notes, low to medium spicy bitterness, nutty bready aftertaste but bitter, dryish finish. Medium+ bodied, soft carbonation.
