If you did not know what you were tasting but knew a little about beer you would immediately recognize this coming from t IJ. Another winner, plain and simple. At the Noord Hollands Bierfestival in Alkmaar.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Golden color, hazy. Dense, rocky, white head with good retention. Aromas: typical IJ yeastiness, aroma (wet/fresh?) hops, fruity, some malty sweetness. Flavor is medium bitter with a light malty sweet backbone. Body is medium. Finishes yeasty and with a nice bitterness. Seems t IJ is back on track.

330 ml bottle @ t IJ brewpub, Amsterdam. Rated on 25.2.2013.
Pours a hazy pale golden colour with a small head. Aroma of dried apricot, pepper and clove. Flavour of sweetish malts, dried apricot, pepper, sour berries, floral hops and tangy citrus. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Finishes sweet and bitter. Refreshing and good.

Bottle @ de paas. Pours a slight cloudy blonde beer with a small white head. Aroma very yeasty, floral and has definitely some malty notes. Flavor has touches of yeast, the IJ flavors are present, as well as a very flowery, spring feeling flavor. Quite nice, could have used some more body, but it is ok like this as well.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2013 Re-rated. Bottle bought at Schiphol airport (sort of impulse buy) I?ve tried a few of the IJ beers and this one was probably the most enjoyable. Has a yeasty floral smell. I love hazy appearance so this one?s looking good. Taste is dough upfront then fruit and vegatable followed by a short-lived hoppy aftertaste. Finishes surprisingly clean and refreshing. Therefore I drank this one in no time at all! This is a well made beer and I reccommend trying it
