Hazy amber with huge off white head. Sweet and sourish aroma with brett and fruity notes. Sweet flavor with brett, wood anyeasty notes and good malt base to balance it.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 arjoseph (634) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 10, 2008
On tap at the brewery under the windmill, Amsterdam (3/2008). Lasting foamy head, thick wall of lacing. Hazy orange in the glass. Do I smell wheat? This is like Hoegaarden Gran Cru with banana added. Smells of lemon grass and other grasses. Flavor and feel is vaguely creamy, vaguely fruity, with the aforementioned banana. Good, but not that impressive (in that it doesn’t make any particular impression).

Bottle. [thank you, Skortila/Caesar]
Pours hazy yellow-orange with a big, creamy, whipped-egg-whites head. Stunning duration. Some small floaties in the liquid. Aroma is heavily yeasty, lots of biscuits, oranges, lime and fine herbs. Medium carbonation. Fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely dry, very malty sweet, some peppery edge. Good citric bitterness. Nice beer wonderful head. Now, I’ve looked at that foam for 5 minutes, and it hasn’t diminished yet!
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2008
Very hazy caramel colour with a small white head. This really isn’t a good looker. Curiously herby aroma, slightly metallic, which also doesn’t contribute much. The taste, rather rough and earthy, has some sour fruitiness, a definite hint of pepper, and some sharp background bitterness you hardly notice at first.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy orange with a small white head and a thick sweet aroma of fresh citrus-fruits and spices. The taste is sweet, fruity and spicey, like a more full-bodied triple. I like it!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - MAR 15, 2008
Tap at brewery: Hazy pale orange color, big fluffy head. Big yeasty body, some banana and fruitiness. Spicy peppery end with a hint of hops. Fine balance. Big beer that stands on its own. I’ve found that the IJ beers are much better on tap than in the bottle, and at the brewery they are stupendous.
