A generous ivory, creamy white head covers the exemplary deep cloudy golden shade. Perfumey, wildly herbal, very spicy nose bursting with cilantro, rosewater and… oregano? A weird and in your face spice blend that gives it a feel like it would match Indian good gloriously. In itself, it’s also satisfying thanks to an excellent, medium-thick, refreshing wheaty, cotton-candy reminiscent, sweet and firm body. Crunchy morning beer. Yummy. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Bottle and served in my "whole garden" tumbler. Pours a hazed golden hue with a fading fizzy head and no lace. The aroma has notes of wheat bread, honey, coriander, clove, and an overall yeasty nose. The taste does show some fruity and spicy character over the base wheat and pale malts but I found this Witbier lacking a sharpness and refreshment I desire from the style. I found hints of orange peel towards the finish. A very average beer which has merits but just does not meet expectations. HenrikSoegaard (4327), Randers, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Powerfull but not great aroma. Light bitter flavor, not as yeasty as other witts. Watery palate. ogivlado (3068), Zagreb, Croatia

Cloudy orange coloured (too dark for this style), big white head, yeasty fruity nose. The aroma is also very yeasty and fruity (orange, lemon, grapefruit) with pleasant spicy notes. Slight acidic finish. swoopjones (1897), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2007 [Sampled in 2005.] Interessting brew from Amsterdam. A topclass wit better than Hoegaarden. More complex and the wheat is somewhat refreshing. Maybe it’s lemon. Used it for beersamplings! iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Cloudy dark copper body with a dense head. Tangy, citric yeast aroma, with some malty breadiness and the typical IJ coriander-like funk. Wheaty, citric taste, quite sweet, with some sour yeastiness tang in the finish. The coriander/tart ’t IJ character works pretty well in this beer. Texture-wise this was quite thick & creamy for a Witbier. Nice and crisp, maybe too thick to be really quaffable, but a nice take on Witbier nonetheless.
