Mustardy, spicy-chemical-vinegar aroma. Stark label. Muddy greenish honey color, clingy head, flocculent white bits that eventually sit on the bottom of the glass. Tart, going on to sour, funky undertones, more mustard. There’s a microbial party going on in there that would make any petri dish proud. Unfortunately some undesirables have crashed the prom. A bit phenolic, overall funky. Perhaps the power of suggestion has called up eggs. Finish clings tartly.

Bottle. Pours a hazy glden with a big fuzzy rather short lasting head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, spices and some citrus. Good champagnish mouthfeel. The flavour has a soft sweetness with plenty of wheat and some yeast, spices, some citrus and coriander. Spiced wheaty finish.

bottle, 330ml, at Falstaff Cafe, Maastricht. Clouded gold with slight head. Lemony, acidic with spices, cloves and corriander is my guess, plus a touch of aniseed. Somewhat overspiced for me but I can see the merits of the beer.

Bottle. Simply beautiful snow whit high and creamy good-looking and what ever els I can say of this head. I love it. Body though is more standard hazy orange. Lomon orang e acidic aroma. I am not sure but I think there is a bit of coiander as well. Lemon coriander flavor with a relatively high carbonation and a nice long aftertaste. Wonder how the Duch people feel about having their beers beers described as Belgian.

bottle indicates march 05 (so 2+ yrs old). pours a cloudy deep amber. head is there but must be coaxed out, and fades quickly. aroma is like a caramel apple, with some bread and yeast in the back. full, luscious body, with lots of caramelized, toasty malts. spice is evident, coriander, some citrus twinge, and a really excellent finish: still plenty of malty fruit, but dry enough that you don’t remember the big malty body. slight acidity helps here alot. really good stuff, this. Tasted again at the brewery, on tap: pale gold. sweet caramel up front that doesn’t go away. not dry enough, and the spices and booze can’t mask it. not good. Leaving the original rating in case this is just one that is better aged.

Draught at the t’IJ brewpub. Deep almost bright golden color. Fruity and lemony aroma. Thick and malty flavor with pepper, phenols, coriander and some sourness. Sweet, spicy and lemony finish.
