COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A prize-winning beer that we brew specially for De Bierkoning. The fruity, bitter hops and lightly roasted malt complement each other perfectly in this light brown beer. These flavours are accentuated with a little coriander to produce a full aroma of flowers, citrus and a hint of caramel. An irresistible beer that was crowned in the Brussels Beer Challenge with a silver medal in the Herb & Spice category.

Vlo stands for Vodden, Lompen en Ongeregeld (translates a bit as rags, bags and bums).

A hazy golden ale with a thick onctuous off white head, lacing and beautiful. A very herbal hops aroma, catnip, some Brett, and lemon notes. In mouth, another fine Orval style ale, with bready malt, light Brett notes, coriander, orange peels, herbal bitterness, very sustained. Bottle bought in Amsterdam, Nov. 2006, so 2.5 years old. Still a treat!!!

A slightly orange, brownish yellow beer with a big and blond head. The nose is strongly fruitfull and spicy, citrusfruits, black peppers, some sourness of green apples. Taste is fruitfull and strongly spicy as aroma, earthyness, herbs, lether and sour end. Medium bodied, high carbonation, fresh to drink. A unique and sour beer again from t IJ. Good beer.

Bottle from the Bierkoning. Hazy dark amber pour, creamy white head. Aroma is grassy, a touch of something minty, quite herbal, light peppery belgian yeast, quite spicy as well, coriander, smells fresh. Taste is grassy, spicy, very light citrusy flavor, tame maltiness, not very sweet, long lingering spicy finish. Palate is med-full bodied with strong carbonation, med-dry, more refreshing than I was expecting. Good.

Somewhat opaque orange yellow with big white foam head. The foam is stopping the aroma, nevertheless some floral. Tastes quiter bitter, coriander, spicy aftertaste. Interesting beer, good. (Velp 201401)

bottle, donated by jaghana - merci! Hazy golden colour, white head. Malty, pleasantly sweet with a spicy-fruity touch. Highly drinkable despite the complexity.
