A very herbal hops aroma, catnip, some Brett, and lemon notes. In mouth, another fine Orval style ale, with bready malt, light Brett notes, coriander, orange peels, herbal bitterness, very sustained. Bottle bought in Amsterdam, Nov. 2006, so 2.5 years old. Still a treat!!!

Fles. Fijn schuim. Robijnrode kleur. Ruikt naar alcohol en gist. Vol mondgevoel richting het cremige. Caramel en hazelnotenschilletjes. Lijkt op bitterheid van een orval (zal de hop zijn) maar mist de complexiteit. Lekker biertje geen toppertje.

Chestnut coloured beer with a small to medium white head.
Sweet fruity soft honey smell.
Sweet soft citrus hints of honey medium bitter and dry aftertaste. Some difficult to place tastes, milkshake like.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Special bottling for the Bierkoning in Amsterdam. Dark beer with a spicy taste. Good and pleasant aftertaste.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is spicy yeast and hops, some malt. Flavour is vegetable, metal, so much flaws.

Oranje tot koper van kleur met witte kop. Geur is hop en kruidig. Smaak is wat zuur en kruidig met wat caramel.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a beige, large-bubbled, large head. Aroma is spicy and yeasty, some pepper and light clove. Taste is spicy, caramel, dried fruit, prune, yeast. Quite sour. Herbal and peppery finish. Palate is light with lots of carbonation.

The head is robust, the body dark brown-red. It smells fruity-bitter-plum. The taste is alcoholic-bitter and a bit unbalanced. In the aftertaste it is alcoholic bitter and a bit dusty. 11/11/10/10/-/10
