Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 5, 2007 Bottle. Very hith loff-white long lasting fluffy head. Hazy orange body. Aroma of sour berries with the addition of alcohol and hops. Not sour but acidic flavor dominated by alcohol, too dominated in fact, with little carbonation and a long aftertaste. "Not my cup of tea". Too much alcohol in aroma and flavor. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Aug 3, 2007 Mahogany red with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of yeast, bread, dark fruits and the flavour of sweetness, roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits, figs, cane sugar and a light sourness, that has a bit tart hints. 2450
1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jul 20, 2007 Pours to a murky chestnut body with lots of small white/tan particulate. A thin coating tan head with dense lacing sits on top. The aroma is yeasty with tart lemon juice and a nice bready grain. Very house-styled ’t IJ aroma. The flavor is really yeasty with tart pale malt and light lemon and banana. Perhaps some oranges. Lots of earthy yeasts. Doesn’t taste much different as a whole than the other ’t IJ beers. Perhaps something’s lost in translation? :) The palate is carbonated, lightly acidic, and earthy. It grows on me the more I drink it. asedzie (453), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 10, 2007 Pours hazy brown with khaki head. Smell is banana bread, alcohol, vanilla. Taste is prominently banana, rubbing alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. This beer was a trip. HenrikSoegaard (4263), Randers, Denmark Jun 21, 2007 Bottle. Frothy off-white excellent mostly lasting head. Ugly brown muddy colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Moderate bitter salty finnish. Oily palate. Not so great BSA. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Jun 7, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle from god knows where. Salty malty nose. Lovely amber colour with a very well behaved off white head. Tangy malty flavour. Fairly one dimensional but decent enough. Slightly milky. Alcohol is hidden well apart from a slight spirit like burn at the back of the throat in the finish. Not bad. shp555 (1678), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 6, 2007 Pours a hazy mahogany brown color with a tan head. Aroma is raisins, malty, brown sugar, and a hint of honey. Flavor is malty, apricot, honey, and raisins. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 2, 2007 Hazy orange-foxy beer with a good yellow-beige head. Very perfumed nose, even raspberry. Yeasty, fusel alcohols betraying themselves. Again very perfumed taste, a hint at tartness, and a lot of esters. Fruity, like strawberry flavouring, but a tad artificial. Well bodied, slick, oily, alcohol. Artificial strawberry flavour remaining in the aftertaste. A bit perfumey, and it is not a beer that one would drink at more than one an evening. Would be hard to swallow fast, even discarding the ABV.
