Sweet and sour notes jump out in the aroma. Very fruity, with some sour grapes, light spices and wet oak. Color is a cloudy dark copper brown. Medium bodied and very warming. Light malts, spices and yeast. Sourness is not very apparent in the flavor. Big alcohol presence. I would guess more that 9%. Finishes pretty clean and warm with a lingering spicyness. Pretty good and very easy drinking. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA

Great beer.
Re-rate
Way too thick and cloying for my taste now. I’ll leave my rating as is, but if I were scoring this today it would be more like a 3.1 or maybe a 3.2. pubbe (493), Højbjerg, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy amber with orange hue. A lot of fruit esthers, some apples and yeast in the flavor. Slightly sweet malt and a lot of acids in the flavor. Oily on the palate. Long lasting finish. Alcohol is somewhat dominating in this beer though. Bov (5425), Bienne, Switzerland

Aromas of yeast, bananas, spices, pears, brown sugar and all around fruity. Tastes of caramel, candi sugar, and fruity. Medium sweet with the alcohol content well hidden. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Pretty deep red-amber with a swollen off white head that faded to a good half inch of dense cream head, leaving a perfect lace. Strong nose of vanilla, oak, walnut, tangerine and some caramel. Taste is a let down after such a fantastic aroma - light spice, nuts, apple, fig and dates. Slightly metallic finish. Creamy, full body. Too watery in the taste, but otherwise a top bew. thewolf (5727), Kolding, Denmark

Head is yellowish white, a tad foamy and quite big. Stunning aroma! Lots of red apples, some caramel, vanilla and candy sugar. Oily mouthfeel. Very nice flavours - lots of spices. Vanilla again, ginger, pepper, oak, caramel and much more. Quite vinious as well. Well-rounded, powerful and great. Still sweet in general.
