Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Jan 8, 2007 Light brown coloured, little carbonation. Large off white head. Fruity alcoholic aroma, with a herby touch. Full creamy body. Finish is strong, alcoholic, little dry near the end. KnutAlbert (3108), Oslo, Norway Jan 8, 2007 33 cl bottle, bought in Amsterdam. Brown ale with lost of carbonation, large head. Full, I’d say agressive taste, with a sourness kicking you in the teeth before the full malty taste is allowed in the door. This is certanly not for casual drinker, a beer with hair on its chest. Full malt, including some prunes and dates, lots of spice - cinnamon and pepper. I bought three t Ij bottles, the first two were off, but this one was great! tish (35), In transition at the moment, Indiana, USA Jan 7, 2007 medium body, flavorful with a spicy end, carbonation lasted throughout. One way to end the new year’s day. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Jan 2, 2007 outta the bottle at the t’IJ..last beer before we moved on so i had to work kwik, kicked the panter...I was looking forward to this. Pours a light dark brown but not really see through. nice aroma. great smooth first sip. a mellow alcohlic brew that goes down very easily; and complex too. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Dec 29, 2006 [Sampled in 2004 with "Den blå Hund."]
Bad that this beer cannot be found in dk anymore. Great looking and an aroma of explotions of fruits and some spices. This continues in the flavor where it all is handled by some hoppiness. It could be a christmasbeer SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 7, 2006 Murky, chunky, amber/brown topped by a small, foamy, tan cap. Flavor and aroma: funky, fruity, sour, yeasty, whole grain bread. Medium/full body, well carbonated. Unique, tasty. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 30, 2006 Pours opaque, dense mahogany...pretty. Heavy, primal aromas of maple, oak, toffee and earth. Dried cherries and peaches swimming in caramel and scotch, with an understated sour finish, when its rich and syrupy mouthfeel becomes immediately dry and bitter. A wild, ancient animal of a beer. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Nov 27, 2006 From the bottle pours darker copper brown, lots of little creatures floating around, with a tall strong white head. Aroma was sweet and sour, light hoppy and sweet fruity. Cherry and chocolate flavors show in the rich malts, some wild yeast give it a dry earthy qualty with a touch of sourness. Very dry spicy finish. Very enjoyable new take on "barleywine".
