COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

330 ml bottle. BBE 01/2012.
Pours a dark brown colour with a thick beigeish head. Aroma of sweet toasted malts, spices and toffee. Flavour of sweet toasted malts, herbs, spices, toffee, syrup and raisins. Alcohol warms nicely. Full bodied, somewhat sticky but at the same time smooth mouthfeel and a long, warming, fruity finish. Quite an extraordinary Belgian Strong Ale.

Pours hazy brown with a medium head. Aroma is mostly malts. Flavor is sweet malts and alcohol. Reminds me of trappist beers. Pretty nice.

Thanks to Beerbiker. Tasted not too long after an Oval - this is the closest to an Oval i’ve had. Murky greyorange with a bubling white head. Funky Brett aroma, mold and mixed with belgian fruity yeast. Flavor is big and complex. Lots of refined sweetness. alchohol and brett. Great beer.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Off-white micro head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Dark caramel and anise aromas. Dry with dark pit fruit and licorice. Lasting hot licorice finish.
