TaxiDriver (908), Stadland, Germany Apr 16, 2009 Bottle. A very sweet aroma of caramel, Port, also some yeast. The head is very large, white and foamy with a long duration. The body is dark orange to red. A light sour taste of yeast, light burning, malt and some caramel in the middle part. The finish is rather long. The body is medium strong, creamy and with much carbonation. gam (1064), brisbane, Australia Apr 12, 2009 Misty yellow brown beer nice head good carbonation aroma clove woodyness malt flavour clove bitter good caramel sultana sugar aniseed nutmeg bitter sweet hop and a smooth finish BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Mar 29, 2009 Bottle sampled @ Freakin’ Frog, LV. Garnet colored beer with a small tapioca head that left nice ringlets of lacing on the inside of the glass. Aroma is brown sugar, dark fruit, caramel and Belgian yeast. Flavor is toffee, molasses, cherry skin, and biscuit. Also has an almost brett-like sourness which adds to the complexity. Nice mouthfeel and highly drinkable. Really enjoyed this one. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Mar 22, 2009 Bottle at Café Gollem, Amsterdam, 14th March 09. Reddish brown, very hazy. Lots of raspberry and caramel malt. Sweet but not special. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Mar 12, 2009 Pours lovely... bronze from the bottle to mahogany in the glass, with a mild fizz before a small, cream colored head which reduces to a Christo-esque island surrounded by film. Yeast and malt dominate the aroma with yellow cheeses and taffy and mustiness. Over time, she reveals more defined cheesish yeasts, Parmesan, cheddar, feta. Mid-bodied with a sticky note to the palate. Flavor finds a berry-touched maltiness alongside tart, mildly funked-out yeastiness, finishing with a sugary kicker that proves to be one of this beer’s few flaws. Overall, tasty & satisfying.

Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 7, 2009 330 ml bottle. Dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, some caramel, hint of dark fruit and a bit spicy. Flavor is medium sweet malty with caramel, dry fruit and moderate hoppy. I think this is my favorite from Brouwerij ’t IJ SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Jan 17, 2009 Bottle: I swear I have never had so many beers that gush on opening as t’ IJ beers. Most of these end up all over my floor. This one followed suit as the previous. Gushed a hazy orange brown with a huge lacing beige head. Aroma is fruit and yet also a sweet caramel or toffee. Taste is sweet and fruit, but very medicinal, leads me to believe it is a bit infected. martinboer (118), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 2, 2009 Bottle at home. Sweet aroma and flavour, marshmallow like. Citrusy, grassy and sweet. Hoppy. Marsapin finish. Warms at the end. Nice. Alchol is well-hidden.
