A barley wine brewed in the English style. Struis is a full-bodied beer with a deep, dark colour and a soft, long-lasting head. The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. A delicious accompaniment to food and ideal with skeapsrond cheese. Struis is only available as a bottled beer.

33 cl bottle, bbe 03/2014 (reduced price). Had this many times before (and fresh) from the late 80s onwards. Dark brown/red color, hazy. Rocky, dense off white head with good retention. Aromas of caramel malts, brown sugar, red fruit, somewhat yeasty and light spices. Flavor is moderate to full sweet. Medium to full bodied. Flavor lingers, but no new taste. Solid.

Kita (861) - Koper, SLOVENIA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy dark brown color with small frothy light brown head, fair lacing, sparkling appearance and many floating body particles. Aroma of strong caramel malt, yeast, wood, herbal hops and with some vanilla notes. Taste starts with moderate sweet malt, follows by dark fruits and alcohol, spicy and warming mouthfeel with moderate bitter finish and long aftertaste. Full body, thick texture and lively natural carbonation in palate. Feels more like quadrupel...

Middle brown color with cream-coloured head. Aroma of sweet ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet and slightly spicy. Good body but a little too short finish.

Bottle Beers of Europe. Rich aroma, plenty of fruit cake, some spices and cloves and plenty of warmth. A big beer, yet quite a short finish.
