3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Schroppfy (2319) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Cloudy, cloudy beer, muddy brown with orange burnished accents. Belgian yeasty aroma (spice - maybe cinnamon, nutmeg) but with a distinct English malting, earthy as heck, leathery, iron, blood. Suuuper tingly palate brings out a strange mix of earthy sweet molasses flavors and spicy phenols (clove, cough drop, nutmeg). Spice can be felt on the lips. Moderately sweet, a touch sour, no real bitterness. Spritzy palate as mentioned but also with some heft. Very earthy and a little strange, I can see why some people might not like it - but I want a beer to challenge me and this one does. Thanks to Edo for the bottle!

Poors brown with red shine. Massive head that seems to keep growing. Aroma is mostly sour but still sweet. Taste is not that sour and has hints of caramel and raisins.

Orange brown reddish beer. Big head that holds decent. Floaters, cause the beer came out the bottle itself. Light sour, fruity and hops at the smell. Taste is better then expected after the smell. Less sour, caramel, fruity, a bit watery sweet. Ok.

I know a lot of people who rave about this beer, but the sourness and heavyness don’t agree with me. Does get slightly better when warming, but it’s definitely not my favorite IJ
