Sweet, slight barrel-funk aroma. Murkey amber color with excellent soft off-white head that lasts. Moderately sweet, lactic hints with a dry finish that leaves you thirsting for another sip. Really an excellent and surprisingly complex beer.

Bottle at the brewpub. The beer pours reddish brown witha creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet caramel, spices, light yeast and dark fruit. Light chocolate, sweet malt, light spices and dark fruit in the flavour. Nice one.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, amber to copper colour with a big and beige foamy head. Moderately yeasty, fruit-accented aroma with notes of berries, lime, as well as a bready touch and hints of caramel. Sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity and bitterness, medium to full bodied with a lively carbonation. Slightly toasty malt-character with caramel, sourish fruity and yeasty spicy notes; sweet, slightly bitter and fruity finish with a well-masked alcohol content. Pleasant to drink. 20.IX.10

Bottle at the brewery. Tangy, fruity, sour aroma with caramel. Cloudy, muddy brown color. Lots of caramel and chocolate in the flavor, with cherries and sour berries. Lightly sour, with helps balance. Rich malt. Very tasty.

Bottle @ home. Hazy reddish brown, large creamy lightly tanned head.
Aroma of fruits, yeast, citrus, caramel, faint liquorice and wine.
Flavour is somewhat sour with red fruit and citrus, some spices and a faint hint of caramel, wine and liquorice.
There’s a Belgian twist allright but Barleywine?

De geur van dit bier was er een van overrijp fruit. Er zat ook aardig wat zuur in de geur. De smaak was bitter, en zweemde naar pikante kaas en bloedpens. Het bier was meegebracht om te bewijzen dat Nederlanders, alle vooroordelen ten spijt, wél goed bier kunnen maken. Hoewel dat ongetwijfeld wààr is, hielp dit biertje niet echt om de vooroordelen de wereld uit te helpen…
