A barley wine brewed in the English style. Struis is a full-bodied beer with a deep, dark colour and a soft, long-lasting head. The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. Cloudy brown beer, decent cream coloured head. Sweet water chesnuts nose with a trace of fruit. Crisp palate turning softer. Taste follows the nose - sweet water chesnuts and a little fruit salad sweets. Minerals. Carbonated bit in the finish.

Amber to dark-amber color; creamy magnificent head. Quite poor aroma, soapy; and with some malt. Quite good body, some sweetness (but dryer at the end), malt caramel and liquorice; a touch of vegetables. The final is warm and can't completely hide the alcohol. Thanks Jacob (Lövenlund) for this bottle.
