COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

33 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom brown colour with a nice white head. Great aroma of sweet dried fruit and hints of yeast. Complex flavour of roasted malt and with notes of sourness and yeast.

Deep and dark, fruity nose, spicy, sweet. Head is frothy and beige, lace in sheets. Start malt and slightly sweet, middle thin, finish has some hops, but mostly dry. Hearty overall, and is quite appealing. Acidic, moderate carbonation, decent beer Thanks Venom.

Garnet brown (pretty hue). Ok head. Caramel and toffee. Molasses cookies. Overripe fruit. Not as good as some of their other beers because of a bit of unpleasant sharpness in the aroma.

Bottle. Hazy burgundy-amber colour with a medium off-white head of tight bubbles that left a good amount of lace. Rich aroma of brown sugar, dark grapes, prunes & alcohol. Flavour is sweet & malty, very nice, with a pleasing bit of boozy warmth in the finish. Thanks to R. for this tasty & rare treat!

330ml Bottle - Hazy brown with a foamy tan head. Fruity and spicy aroma with raisins, caramel and some pleasant spicy hints. Fruity taste with a tart and spicy element with rangers and a hint of clove. Not bad and very drinkable.

(3/16/08) Bottle at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Hazy red with a big, slowly-diminishing, off-white head. Aroma of some malt, wood and fruits – quite nice. Sweetish flavor with some malt, a bit of caramel, some oaky sour notes and some nice fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Very pleasant.

Hazy dark amber colored, creamy off-white head. Rosted malt and spices dominates the aroma with fruity and citrusy tones underneath. Flavor is extremely sweet fruity and orangy. Notes of plum, yeast and hay. Strange and different and a little cloying in the long run, still tasty.

Thanks to Solan for this bottle!! Near Perfect 10. Hazy burnt orange pour and a fluffy light tan head that slowly settles to a 1/2 in film. Phenolic nose. Lots of barleywine similarities that are overshadowed by notable hints of bubblegum, orange, and more phenolic properties
