COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

Bottled @ the Saturday session, St Albans Beer Festival 2004. Beer #34. Darker than the Wit. This is sweet, malty and yeasty.

Strong caramel in aroma, even a bit of chocolate. Dark brown with a medium head. Full bodied and smooth. Sweet caramel with dark fruits. Also slightly citric and yeasty. Nice.

Pours a hazy mahogany brown color with a tan head. Aroma is raisins, malty, brown sugar, and a hint of honey. Flavor is malty, apricot, honey, and raisins.

Bottle from beerlando. Clear mahogany, decent off white head. Aroma rather subdued but what’s there is quite nice. Candied fruit, hints of brett, yeasty, herbal character I can’t pinpoint. Flavor has same herbal character, which is amplified by hot alcohol. Honestly tastes like someone put ricolla cough drops in a barleywine. Strange, but not all bad. There is alot going on here, but you really have to dig for it.

Sheesh. Possibly one of the worst beers from this region I’ve ever had. Everything seemed to be off with this beer. I was really expecting much more. Aroma was vegetative. Appearance wasn’t bad. Flavor was malty sweet. I have another bottle of this, so I will have to re-rate. I think the bottle was bad.

Hazy dark amber color, large off white head that had a good hang time then faded to leave a bit of a lace behind. The aroma was yeasty with some nice fruity notes some hints of spice and a bit of band-aid as well Hmmmm. The flavor was mildly malty with some flavors of dried fruit raisin maybe some plum with a slight yeasty thing going on as well as a noticeable alcohol hint in the middle, the brew seems a bit on the heavy side for me but definately goes down nicely.Pretty nice brew and well worth trying again.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe. Poured bronw with ruby red notes. Medium beige head. Caramel, malt aroma similar to the Feuillien I just had. Short lived malty flavor with some grass notes poking through. Alcohol is well hidden. Watery finish.

Dark pour with a good sized head. Some fruit and touches of spice on the aromas. Dark fruit and molasses. Flavor had more hops than the aromas. But mostly malt and sweet finish. Pretty good
