COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

330 ml bottle. BBE 01/2012.
Pours a dark brown colour with a thick beigeish head. Aroma of sweet toasted malts, spices and toffee. Flavour of sweet toasted malts, herbs, spices, toffee, syrup and raisins. Alcohol warms nicely. Full bodied, somewhat sticky but at the same time smooth mouthfeel and a long, warming, fruity finish. Quite an extraordinary Belgian Strong Ale.

On tap at IJ Proeflokaal on 19 March 2011. Naturally cloudy brown-amber with thin, part lacing off-white head. Clean yeast and peppery spice in aroma. Rich honey, malt and fruitiness in liquid plus a citric bite. Zingy mouthfeel and lasting citric and fruity aftertaste.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2011 Bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured brown color with a huge everlasting white head. Lots of particles floating around, high carbonation. Aroma is horse stable, hops, brett and herbal/medicine notes. Flavor is sweet malt, spices, yeast. Medium bodied. This was some hardcore stuff. Rerate, first rating 10.7.2011. 738415

Bottle best by 4/04: Hazy dark copper color with a dense and well-lacing head. Aroma is musty and bready with a touch of yeast and tartness. Body starts light and syrupy sweet with some cookie dough maltiness and a semi-dry warming finish. Decent complexity and hides its alcohol well, but could use a little more body and balance. Very drinkable though.

33 cl bottle, BBE 28.04.11. Rated on 20.01.2011
Sweetish, spicy and somewhat earthy aroma. Flavour is sour and sweet with earthy notes and some ripe fruits. I like the sourness here.
