COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

pours a depp brown with hints of orange, and a decent tan head. aroma is deep and pruny with obvious alchol and yeast. good carbonation. Tatses of dark fruit, plums and apricots with a bit of a cholocately carmelness. a very noticable alcohol warming finish. The first sip seemed a bit watery, but it coats the mounth on finsh. This is a real unique, full beer

Pours a hazy, copperish brown with a large fine-bubble tan head. Unique aroma with a lot of pineapple, candy smarties, spiced apples, and caramel. Plenty of spices dominate the aroma along with tropical fruits Mmmm, the spices give it a very complex, delicous taste The initial malty and yeasty flavors slowly melt into a spicy, tasty medicine-like finish. There’s something about this beer that leaves you wanting more and more after every taste. This is exactly what I would expect from an Amsterdam beer. It’s rich, creamy, smooth, and leaves your taste buds tingling. An explosion of dark fruit and spices in the flavor along with a funky yeast taste that can only be described as Amsterdam at it’s best, makes this beer a very special one.

Bright medium amber caramel with slim gray rim. Big funky cherry on the nose--lots of soft sweet sour notes dancing around alongside that. Rich medium body with lively carb. Gorgeous cherry, red wine vinegar, and tangy citrus mid-palate. Mild, lightly minerally finish.

Bottle. Dark unfiltered amber color. Large creamy head. Sweet nose from dark sugar and toffee. Excellent balance and wonderful taste of fruits, sugars, coffee and caramel. A bit like Chimay Blue only much better finish and mouthfeel. Found at frits P Århus DK.

A strong Belgian style ale made in Holland sounds funky, but they pull it off quite well. Strong coppery color and big fluffy head bring a strong sour aroma and a slight alcoholic odor to the nose. The flavor is a little too malty for me, which gives it a barleywine aspect. 9% alcohol is not at all evident in the taste though, just the nose.

Bottle. Pours a thick orange/brown hazy liquid with a thick foamy yellowish beige head, some sediment at the bottom of the glass. Aroma: great fruitiness with some spices, not very yeasty. Taste: fruit, dried fruit, malt, citrus, some yeast, brown sugar, still not too sweet. Thick, medium fizzy mouthfeel. Really good, well balanced and very drinkable, the 9% ABV is hardly noticeable.
