COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A barley wine brewed in the English style. Struis is a full-bodied beer with a deep, dark colour and a soft, long-lasting head. The aroma is dark and sweet, with clear tones of chocolate and dried fruit. The aftertaste is dry and long-lasting, and leaves you yearning for more. A delicious accompaniment to food and ideal with skeapsrond cheese. Struis is only available as a bottled beer.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2014.

bottle 330 ml, pours clear dark reddish to brown with white head that falls very fast. Aroma of cherries, red fruits, figs, sugarcane, raisins, chocolate, toast and yeast. Very sweet taste with only a touch of bitterness and very light sourness. More like a cross of Belgian Strong Ale and Barley Wine. Carbonation is soft, texture is slick. Alcohol is very good hidden. Not exactly what I’ve expected, but a very good drinkable beer.

330 ml bottle, probably from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 9%. BB-date 04.13. Cloudy brown colour, pours fizyy with a low beige head that soon subsides. Strong malty aroma, notes of caramel, molasses, oak and alcohol. Malty flavour with a slight fruity acidity, also notes of caramel. Not bad. .

Bottle from de Mitra in Gorinchem. The beer is deep dark brown colored and pours a long staying cream colored head. The aroma bitter and sweet at the same time, with tones of roasted malts, dark chocolate, candy and dried dark fruits. Delicious mild flavor with clear tones of ammonium chloride and a nice bitterness. Fine soft aftertaste with hints of licorice at the end. Very nice brew from Holland. This is one of my favorite brewers.

Butelka. Termin ważności 10.2014 - wypite 02.2015. Mocno nagazowane, wyleciało podczas otwarcia. Barwa ciemny bursztyn. W smaku wyczuwalne brzoskwinie, słodkawe. Jak dla mnie mało przypominające styl Barley Wine bardziej Strong Belgian Ale. Nie przypadło mi do gustu.

My first barley wine. Dark, thick on the palate, feels like you could drink it with a fork. Very malty, sweet, but balanced with bitterness. This is nice., would like to pair it with a moist, bitter chocolate cake or a beef stew.

Nice darkroom Brown colour and an off-white head. Aroma of coffee and rasins. Pretty sweet. Rasins, cherries and yeasty flavours. Not really my thing.

first of all - gushing :/ color, cloudy dark brown, mud brown head, few seconds very nice but drops quickly aroma: dried plums, wine, malt, cherries, honey sweet, no bitterness, not bad body, medium-low carbonation alcohol, well coveredy by other aromas :)
