Ungstrup (14760), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 18, 2004 The aroma is lovely of peaches, coriander and other spices as well as some sharpness from the yeast and alcohol. The color is hazy orange and it has a beutiful though disappearing beige head. The flavor is of caramel, oranges, yeast, and coriander. A nice beer. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 15, 2004 A tasty little surprise. Hazy dark orange to amber color with a small tan head. The aroma is just full of fruit, dates and figs and prunes. The flavor is rich and fruity and is very much a palate destroyer. Some nice spice compliments the malty flavor perhaps, clove nutmeg or cinnamon, maybe even ginger, but all very light and tame. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Jul 27, 2004 Hazy amber with beige head. Floral, fruity, malty aroma. Decent body and mouthfeel. Flavor was somewhat spicy, fruity. Nothing special. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 25, 2004 Not bad but not nearly as good as the Struis. Darker in colour with a medium medium lasting white to almost tan head. The nose is yeasty and bland. So goes it for the taste, just bland and yeasty. Yup, its a belgain. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 25, 2004 Pours a clear dark copper with a puffy light cream-colored and finely lacing head. Lightly spiced cookie dough aroma with a touch of black licorice. Starts lightly bready sweet and caramely with some touch of spicy dryness toward the finish. Has an interestingly spiced body with a silky smooth texture. A unique and complex brew, but the spice makes it a little weird. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Jul 19, 2004 Amber brown with thick white head and some cloudiness. Nose of hops, apricot, malt, peach, and citrus. Strong prickle on the tongue with a sweet soft malty mouthfeel. Some fruit notes with a long finish that shows the alcohol. Oakes (8079), gone rambling, Vietnam Jun 22, 2004 Hazy amber with a thin head. A little bit of brown sugar kicks things off in terms of aroma, followed by apricot and grapefruit. Rounded candied fruit flavours mingle with a large malt presence (caramel, toast) and firm alcohol backbone. Cherry notes appear during the sweet finish alongside flowery notes. Definitely a dessert beer. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 14, 2004 Absolutely huge off-white and creamy head. Amber body. Sweaty lemon and apple aroma. Stale orange and lemon taste with sort of a sweet finish and some spice hints. Alcohol isn’t noticable, but mouthfeel is a little watery. Ok.
