SilkTork (4155), Rochester, Kent, England Nov 29, 2007 Oct, 2007 On tap at ’t Arendsnest the day after the marathon. The Arendsnest sample tray with Robin Brilleman’s recommendation and tasting notes. Very dark colour. Alcohol and cardboard. Winner of some Dutch Bock award. Alcohol spreads and lingers - not aggressive, but dominating. Licorice, caramel and sugar. Rather one dimensional. Nose is prunes and cherry. [2.6] DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2007 Bottle from State Line. This one was a major gusher. It poured turbid orangy with 3-fingers of well reatined white head that made great head formations upon repouring. The aroma was heavy citrus, including tangerine, pineapple, some hops, some spicy peppery floral notes, and some funk. The taste was malty, very citrus fruity, with the tangerine, black pepper, pineapple, and some funky yeasty notes. Nice complexity, and it all balanced well for me. This is a great beer. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 30, 2007 11.2oz bottle. Hazy brown orange with a 4 1/2 finger rocky off-white head, and I still couldn’t quite get the whole bottle into my Piraat tulip. Lots of fruity tart yeast and dough up front, some earth and earthy bitterness, and unripened apricots and Granny Smith apples. There is also a light caramel sweetness. The initial flavor is actually sweet and bready. There is some spice and some alcohol presence as well. The yeast is ever-present, and there is still some light tang. Grape skins? I think I got some in here. Semi-dry finish, very low bitterness. High carbonation that is actually fairly smooth (surprisingly), and a medium body. It took me a few sips to appreciate this beer, and I didn’t realize I had overshot the average--I figured it would have been around a 3.3 or 3.4. That said, I’d probably rather have any of my other 3.7 beers over this one. nuplastikk (1161), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 14, 2007 Wow. Turbock is awesome. Thick and unfiltered assumably. Rich and creamy with a spicy, yeasty finish. Covers up the alcohol level incredibly well. Full bodied and doughy, Turbock is a delight to sip upon. 12oz bottle from Amsterdam. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Ijnde Jaars
