FrankJohansen (3329), Sabro, Denmark Jul 30, 2007 Bottle. Orange hazy colour with a huge white mostly lasting head. Complex aroma and taste of malt, fruit and spices. Lasting finish. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jul 2, 2007 2006 vintage. Pours to a hazy caramel colored body with a gigantic rocky off-white head that reminds me of Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. Awesome lacing. The aroma is spicy and dusty with cinnamon, nutmeg, chestnuts, and green/yellow apple skins. Sort of smells festive and saison-like. The flavor is spicy, extremely yeasty, nutmeg, cinnamon, yellow apples. Biere de garde meets saison and Belgian ale. Notes of nuts comes through in the aroma and flavor. The palate is rich, extremely carbonated, nicely textured, and dry. I should have bought more of this at Blue Max! Only $4.29. TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Jun 12, 2007 Bottled
Hazy nut brown color, creamy beige head. Dark fruits, paperbag, glue, ginger and yeast in the nose. Grassy hops, grapes, raisins and candy sugar in the flavor and then some citrus in the aftertaste. Also some spices: ginger and cinnamon. I think this is a bit old bottle (from 2005?) and maybe not so sweet than it was originally.
