Ungstrup (10863), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 18, 2004 The aroma is lovely of peaches, coriander and other spices as well as some sharpness from the yeast and alcohol. The color is hazy orange and it has a beutiful though disappearing beige head. The flavor is of caramel, oranges, yeast, and coriander. A nice beer. omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 28, 2008 Bottled at Monk’s Café,Stockholm. Hazy dark amber, dense head. Yeasty nose with a lemony tang - typical ’t IJ style. Floral and grassy with a body that is slimmer than expected. Fruity and vinous with some caramelly malt and striking resiny bitterness. Papsoe (9771), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 8, 2005 Updated: Jan 2, 2006(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "’t IJ IJndejaarsbier". Reddish brown, hazy with a huge sediment and a small off-white head. Lots of carbonation though. Malty and bitter with no particular flavour really sticking out. Perhaps a bit of candy sugar, but nothing much. Far from the best ’t Ij beer. 080105 Oakes (6793), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 22, 2004 Hazy amber with a thin head. A little bit of brown sugar kicks things off in terms of aroma, followed by apricot and grapefruit. Rounded candied fruit flavours mingle with a large malt presence (caramel, toast) and firm alcohol backbone. Cherry notes appear during the sweet finish alongside flowery notes. Definitely a dessert beer. joergen (6148), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 21, 2006 Bottle.
