COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A golden Tripel-style ale. A little lighter in alcohol, but not in flavor, than Westmalle, and more drinkable. It matches the best of Belgium.

Pours cloudy with a number of small floaties (a few chunks at the end). A small head that dissapears quickly, good bit of carbination. An overall nice flavor although a bit sour, kind of a sour apple aroma at first. Some citrus going on too. Thanks to HopDog for giving me this one.

Bottle. Hazy, orangey amber with a small head and a bit of sediment. Fruity aroma, hinting of oranges. Flavours have the typical ’t IJ trademarks; fruity and spicy with strong hints of orange zest. Good carbonation and body. Nice.

Pours a golden brown with a million floaties in it. They are suspended throughout the beer. The nose is a little disappointing as it gives off the aroma of dog food mixed with malt and spice. The taste reminds me more of a European lager or pilsener than a tripel. Smooth malted body hops, some fruit, and spice. Very nice combination and very smooth mouthfeel and finish. Light warming feeling as it goes down. Good beer!

Habersham Beverage Warehouse, Savannah, Ga. - 330 ml bottle. Pours a murky golden-orange with a wispy, creamy white head and good lacing. Yeasty aroma with some earthy, malty notes. Flavor has a hint of lemon with some biscuity, malty back end notes. Very earthy and green. Mouthfeel is decently thick, not too spritzy. Quite refreshing.

Draught at the t’IJ brewpub. Hazy yellow to brown color with creamy head. Sour and spicy aroma with cumin and pepper. Sweet, thick, worty, spicy and fruity flavor with strong phenols, some sourness and some woodyness. Usually the beers taste the best at the brewery but in this case its the opposite. The beers at brewery are very thick and not fully fermented.

This golden colored ale pours with a creamy white head. The aroma is very hoppy, as is the flavor. The taste is initially sweet and fruity with a more bitter finish. Overall, a very respectable tripel-style ale.

Bottle, sampled at The Rover, Göteborg. Hazy pale yellow. Geuze/Faro nose; wood, lemon/grape, cellary. Almondy bitter flavour, smooth, medium bodied. Bit strange.
