Pours a very lightly hazy medium golden color. A frothy, off-white head shows good retention, settling slowly to a 2mm blanket that sticks. Sticky, splotchy lacing remains on the glass. Aromas are quite funky, dry, and laden with brett. Notes of light candy sugar, light fruity esters (banana maybe), bready yeast, and mild floral hop notes make for a very nice blend. Peppery notes emerge from the yeast, lending a welcomed spiciness. Flavors continue along those lines, with the sweetness of a candied pale malt base being countered by the spicy yeast and dry, musty brett. Very much in the mold of a Jolly Pumpkin in terms of yeast profile, though perhaps less dry and more peppery. Medium-plus bodied and softly carbonated, this one is quite drinkable, but lacking in substance for an 8% beer. Tails off at the finish, turning a little flat in flavor and palate. This is pretty good overall, and just a few tweaks short of brilliant.

Oct 8, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden brown with a small head. Aromas are brown sugar and caramel with spices. Earthy with ripe pear and bubblegum. Flavours are yeasty with sweet wheat and spices. Some chocolate with weetabix malts. Fruity with a dry finish.

Oct 8, 2008 On tap @ the brewery. Pours a hazy golden with a white diminishing head and lacings. Sweet and fruity. Belgian yeast and banana aromas. Doughy hints. Low carbonation. Dry finish.

Opens with a slowly moving foam snake. Rich orange, hazy, healthy tight head. More yeast darkens it significantly, and makes it basically turbid. Salty sour aroma, almost sweaty and crotchy. Initial taste has that too, but decent malty body too. Sweet and slightly spicy, but dominated by the crotch that builds up as it warms. Plenty of hops in the finish too - hallertau or similar detected, I’m sure. More yeast softens the aroma, making it less crotchy, and likewise the taste. Still a little acidic in the finish. I’m not sure this beer knows what it wants to be, it’s not an abbey tripel with the sourness we had, more like an ubersaison - spoilt bottle?

Sep 29, 2008 Nice hazy golden body with a creamy head. Aroma of coriander, ginger and malt. Taste was apple, toffee, cinnamon, fine hops. That was delicious too!!!

Sep 16, 2008 Deep gold body with a lightly off white head. The massive aroma was sweet with ginger and leather. There was also some nice caramel. The taste was sweet caramel apples with some strogn ginger and cinnamon coming through in the finish. Solid.
