Big bottle, shared with WNDS crew. Pours black, textbook lace. Roasted nose, some coffee, and something mineral/sulfuric. Body medium to low carbonation, malts, toffee, fondant, taste is bitter with a sour toch. Finish medium long. Decent not very heavy stout.

15th Dec 2012: my first draught beer of the day at the 18th Essen Christmas Beer Festival. Dark and Stout-like in appearance, tanned head and all that. Strong aroma and taste of both coffee and chocolate in equal measures with hints if liquorice in the taste, drying finish and a good start to my tasting day.

Tap @ KBF. Almost black colored beer. Off white, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Some alcohol in the nose too. Sweetish taste with caramel, alcohol warming. Very smooth with notes of hopp bitterness in the aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2012 Draft at the Essen Christmas Beer Festival. Poured a dark mahogany with a round tan head. The aroma is smoky and of roasted malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with liqourice and malt. There is little on the palate and the beer is surprisingly smooth with little alcohol burn.

6/X/2012 - on tap @ Modeste Bierfestival (Antwerpen) - BB: n/a (2012-1119)

Very dark brown beer, creamy beige to brown head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit smelly, coffee, grains, oats, mocha. MF: lively carbon, full body. Tase: mocha, coffee, caramel, bitter hops, chocolate. Aftertaste: mocha, bitter hops, cocoa powder, very dry and hoppy ending. Very decent!

(From notes 6 Oct, 2012) Tap. Thick head, bitch black beer. Aroma of coffee and malt. Smooth on the palate and a pretty dry finish. This was a nice stout.

Draught Gushing to overflowing cream-tan head over fully black beer; textbook lace; Roasted, charred, bit meatroastsides-like, but also charbon; ureum. Sweet-roasted, and a bit mineral, not quite salty. And in the finish, a faint but unmistakable mintflavour - strange. Medium bodied, but feels better bodied; very slick, grist-like slickness. Good try, even when its not a patch on whats done these days in the USA, Denmark or even the UK - or Oostvleteren...
