Skinnyviking (2590), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 29, 2006 Bottle.Wauw white high creamy lasting and very good looking head. Unclear yeallow bod. Exiting aroma that I cannot quite distingish both something like fruit stored in a cellar, sweet but too old. Flavor less complicated but also very good, hops with a pleasant bitterness. How do I get to Assebroek-Brugge, I am sure people there are smiling happily. slimchill (616), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 17, 2007 Bottle. Malty sweet nose with yeasty esters. Light notes of peach and apples. Extremely cloudy yellow with thin but frothy white head, leaving strong lacing. Opens fruity and folds into a deeper sweetness with smoke and wood notes. Strong and substantial palate which sits nicely. beastiefan2k (1085), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Feb 26, 2006 Drank in a Leffe glass. Poured with a very nice head, not thick but above medium. Color is a deep golden, cannot see through the beer. Aroma is great, floral sweetness, like a beautiful autumn day. Very crisp, like a lemony-grassy-herby kind of smell. Makes your nose hairs get up and dance. It tingles your tongue. Taste is fresh, endures on your palate with its medium body, not overwhelming but there. Leaves an essence in your mouth of citrus. I enjoyed it, this brewery in my opinion has a nack for aroma and taste in their beers. Schroppfy (1728), Ohio, USA Dec 15, 2005 Exactly the same funky, leafy spicy dryness from the kaffir as in the Stone 04.04.04, but without all the wheat. Peppery too. Sweet candy bits waft in the aroma as well, this is biting and sharp on the clear pour, with sweetness in relief in the flavor. Yeasty breadiness on the latter pour softens but includes more bittering with flavors of other greens (chard). Another frest and natural winner. Thanks Andre!! TAR (1998), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA Nov 21, 2005 Hazy honeyed gold. Clumpy white foam clings with each sip. Zesty nose of lemon cake, white pepper, doughy malt, musty yeast, and herbal hops. Delicate blend of tropical fruits and phenols. Expansively effervescent on the palate. Invigorating, early on, with a soft yet zesty profile of flowery hops and airy phenolic snap. Tastefully incorporated candy sugar sweetness lends body as it adheres to the understated powdery Pilsner malt bedding which gently brushes the palate. Lime blossoms impart rosewater-soft drops of acidity which elegantly displace the mineral hardness and candy glazed pear grittiness. Finishes quenching with a spicy ester-induced dryness and staunch mineral backing. The lack of malt is its only downfall. A very uplifting brew, otherwise. Would pair wonderfully with a picnic.
