UPDATED: MAR 31, 2008 Pours out in a cloudy golden colour with a rich lasting white foam. Yeasty, spicy Belgian aroma packed with banana and sweet oranges with a stinging peppery undertone. Flavour wise; here comes the hops of orange-peels and wet grass, hints of pepper. Mouth drying mouthfeel. Bitter warming and yeasty finish of orange-peels, pepper, grass, banana and alcohol. The aroma was like;uhum, another strong estery strong Belgian blond ale but the hops really came through in the flavour. A bit under rated IMO.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma of yeast and hops. Flavour of spices and yeast - a little hoppy. Not that bitter and hoppy for a dubbel IPA.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Yeasty and light spiced aroma. Light plastic note. Fruity yeasty and oily hops flavour. Ends with solid bitterness and a lingering fruity note. Mix of hops and yeast. Nice mellow yeasty and fruity flavour. I think this hybrid is quite drinkable.

2008-03-04. Hazy orange body with a big creamy off-white head and solid lacing (4+). Hoppy aroma, grassy straw, muted citrus, grapefruit seeds? Mild background yeast. (7+) Fairly bitter flavour, lots of hops but the nuances of the hops largely fall victim to the alcohol that shows up shortly after. Lightly astringent bitter citrus hops, light yeast and ’Belgianness’. (7+) Average palate has a soft ’Belgian’ feel but perhaps I am influenced by my environment and reading to much into it. (3+) Nice beer.

Label as De Regenboog Plus @ Max’s. Hazy cloudy pale body with a small white head. The nose is citrus, floral hops, honey, cookie dough and green grapes. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with lots of flowers, herbs, cotton candy, honey, golden raisins and dough. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange beer with an off white and lasting head. Aroma is dominated by the yeast. Flavour is sweet, fruity, bitter and spicy. I really weren’t expecting this when i bought the bottle and I dont like it that much.

Flaske. Underlig øl der bestemt ikke minder om en DIPA. Duften er underlig undertrykt af gæren som helt dominere i forhold til humlen. Går igen i smagen. Meget skuffende.

33cl bottle bought @ vinens verden, Odense. Poured into my t’smisje glass. Muddy orange with a fine large egg white fully lasting head. Aroma is of yeast & hops (fruity/citrus & soap) mainly, with some spices also. Very warm & very sweet & bitter. Smooth & creamy palate. Leather/ashy & dusty notes which I do not like. Besides from that yeast, hops & alcohol dominates. Sticky lasting bitter end. A weird contribution to the style and way off guard. But I guess that is the style of this "crazy" Belgium brewer. My last few experiences with De Regenboog have been disappointing though!
