3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 steview (904) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 4, 2008
different label, yellow, has a scary dude face on it: little aroma; hazy brown body, small light tan head, some scattered lace; sweet flavor, but subdued by its own plain maltiness, or lack of hop character; good carbonation; decent brew.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Taverner (1037) - San Ramon, California, USA - APR 25, 2008
An OK Belgian - maybe this is better aged, or fresh - I have no idea how old the bottle was. Had a nice banana flavor, you could taste the honey in the mouthwarming sweetness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 porterhouse (1482) - Alna, Maine, USA - APR 11, 2008
(330 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pours murky, rusty amberish brown. Lots of floaties. Thin biege head recedes to a very thin layer. Aroma is fruity (raisin, cherry) and candyish-sweet. Mouthfeel is light-medium full, a touch prickly. Slightly dry. Flavor is fairly sweet and also fruity. There were notes of brown sugar, raisin, smoke, dates and other fruit. Even some chocolate as it warmed. Slight note of alcohol toward finish. Sounds great on paper but somehow it only added up to a good but not overly impressive dubbel.

Hazy deep amber with huge off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with yeasty and caramel notes. Flavor is sweet with spices, caramel and yeasty notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends sweet.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Fruity, light yeasty and caramel aroma. Flavour is spiced and fruity, light wineous towards aged and woody feel. Spiced flavour into the finish, swept in a dense malty flavour. Slight alcohol burning finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Eructoblaster (2043) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 24, 2008
Bottle - 330ml. Cloudy chestnut brown body with fizzy carbonadion and a decent off-white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, caramel and fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste hides the alcohol pretty well and cerries some oaky notes. Ends with a good bittersweet finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Indra (2323) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - FEB 20, 2008
330ml bottle. Gently sweet, vinous aroma, lightly fruity with hints of raisin, walnut, dark brown sugar, cherry and very faint alcohol. Clear medium-dark amber color, all sediment left behind, almost tea-like appearance, with a fading, slight head. Flavor contains the expected dark, brown sugary malt sweetness but has an equally notable spicy, bitter, peppery component throughout, blended with an earthy, herbal tinge, faint banana and medicinal alcohol at the finish. A little thin on the palate for a beer of its purported girth, the body seeming full enough. Does have some interesting aspects, but not put together extremely well.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 RoyceH (1129) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - FEB 10, 2008
Bottle. Sweet malt, some chocolate and lactic tones. Mouth is bitter maltiness, harsh and very carbonated. Not great.
