Clear brown of color with an off white head. An aroma of spice, caramel, yeast and bubblegum. A flavor of hops, spice, bitter and weak malty.

Goofy looking bottle. Muddy amber-brown pour with whitish-tan head and some retention. Spicy banana nose. Taste is spicy and a little bitter, but not in a bad way. Wasn’t expecting much, but this turned out to be a surprisingly delicious brew.

Bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Pours dark hazy amber with a foamy beige head. Unusual dusty, smoky aroma. Medium body with very foamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted caramel and spices (coriander?), peach/apricot, hop bitter - could be grassy hop. Nice bitter beer.

madvike (1298) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 8, 2009
Bottle - Pours a deep cloudy amber, with a small cream-colored head. Looks like something that would come out of the pipes under my sink -- it’s syrupy and full of sediment that just hangs in the beer without moving. I know it’s going to taste just fine, but it just looks like crap. Smells nice and malty, with some spice notes that aren’t too sharp, a sweetness that must be the honey, some breadiness and a little heat. It tastes malty and sweet, with none of the heat present in the nose. There a sour, funky sweetnes and that honey taste that leads into a toasty, nutty finish. This beer is complex and leads you all over the place -- not what I expected, but I liked it.

Bottle from Sun Devil. Really surprising treat. Nose of brown banana and gentle nutmeg/cinnamon. Color is a muddy brown with neat tan head. Flavor begins as nose does, going from banana bread to coffee-toffee and finally a dry/foreign stout muddy dark quality. Highly variable and multifaceted beer, and a hell of a dubbel.

NobleSquirrel (2570) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2009
Draft at Map Room. Pours a murky maple syrup color, reddish brown with a fluffed head. Nose is yeasty and phenolic, loads of spice, nutmeg and cinnamon with bananas and cloves. A bit dusty and dirty. Taste is sweet and somehow dry as well. Nice body, though a bit over carbonated. Not bad...

Rciesla (5500) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - APR 16, 2009
Bottle. Pours a amber brown hazy body with a thin tan head. Dark Belgian fruits encompassing a slight sour cobweb aroma. Sweet and chewy with a moderate etoh warming. A good brew.

Jukkabro (3457) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 13, 2009
Murky dark brown colored with vanishing yellow head. Berry and vinous aroma with ripe fruits and mild alcohol, slight chocolate also here. Medium bodied, carbonated palate. Flavor is drier with some nutty tone, berries also here. Aftertaste dries even more with thin rubbery tone, mild alcohol and some paper also here.
