I first had the Kerst that this was made from last year and enjoyed it, but here the whiskey cask maturing seems to have lessened its likeability. It pours a hazy brownish amber with a tall frothy head that does loads of lacing. The aroma is dusty toffee, brown sugar, dark juicy fruit, booze, and old wood. Theres a peppery spiciness to the flavor from the abundant alcohol and a touch of coriander. A citrus pulp bitterness jumps in midway and lingers through the finish. Okay, but I had higher hopes for this.

Dark mahogany pour with small white head. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel and smoke. Flavor is straight wood, huge whiskey flavor and an extreme woody tree bark thing going on. Smokey as well with hints of the fruity spices that should not be aged in a whiskey barrel. A chalky off-taste with some burnt chocolate notes and a hint of vanilla. But its all wood and not a subtle oak flavor more like a tree was put in this beer. I tried but I cant drink this.

A so so Belgian strong. A little too rough for my taste but what do you expect for 11%. Aroma was very weak especially for this alky content. Dark fruits mostly but with a grassy/pumpkin note. Pour was beautiful. Dark murky brown/amber with a huge 3 finger tan head. Taste was very alcoholic. Strong malt and candied sugar flavors with a strong whiskey presence. Too sweet and sticky. So so.

Pours a dark reddish-amber color with a lighter tan head. Aroma is of dark fruits, slight candied sugar, caramel malts, a hint of whiskey, and some alcohol. Flavor had some roasted malts, dark fruit, candied sugar and caramel malts up front with a dry finish of whiskey, coriander, and a little oak. Not as much warming on this as I was expecting from the nose.

Wow... only 11 ratings? Thanks Skyview. The beer pours to a hazy orange amber body with a nice creamy white head and awesome lacing. The aroma is strong on the grains of paradise, vanilla whiskey, and light coriander. A very interesting blend. The palate is medium bodied, carbonated, and spicy.

Sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #2". 33cl. thanks to xnoxhatex for this. Pours a clear amber with a fizzy white fading head. Aromas of yeast, citrus, bread and sweet oranges. Sweet flavors. Bad whiskey, piney alcohol, hot pepper, spicy, fizzy. The heat wont let go.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2008 Beautiful copper color! Cooked vegetable on the nose, with a strange peppery spice and a little whiskey. Earthy, yeasty flavor, musty, with some whiskey, but far less than I thought it would have. Does not drink like 11%. Sweeeeeeeet goodness is this sugary! Smooth, supple, a tiny bit thin in the clear pour. But really earthy and vegetabley, I mean seriously. Weird. I love Regenboog!

Pours copper/amber with powerful head and no lacing. The nose has scents of carmel and lots of spices. The flavor is sweeter than I expected but you notice the spice and whisky pretty well. The finish lingers and the beer is quite smooth but it is a wee bit over-the-top.
