3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A so so Belgian strong. A little too rough for my taste but what do you expect for 11%. Aroma was very weak especially for this alky content. Dark fruits mostly but with a grassy/pumpkin note. Pour was beautiful. Dark murky brown/amber with a huge 3 finger tan head. Taste was very alcoholic. Strong malt and candied sugar flavors with a strong whiskey presence. Too sweet and sticky. So so.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark reddish-amber color with a lighter tan head. Aroma is of dark fruits, slight candied sugar, caramel malts, a hint of whiskey, and some alcohol. Flavor had some roasted malts, dark fruit, candied sugar and caramel malts up front with a dry finish of whiskey, coriander, and a little oak. Not as much warming on this as I was expecting from the nose.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow... only 11 ratings? Thanks Skyview. The beer pours to a hazy orange amber body with a nice creamy white head and awesome lacing. The aroma is strong on the grains of paradise, vanilla whiskey, and light coriander. A very interesting blend. The palate is medium bodied, carbonated, and spicy.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2008 Beautiful copper color! Cooked vegetable on the nose, with a strange peppery spice and a little whiskey. Earthy, yeasty flavor, musty, with some whiskey, but far less than I thought it would have. Does not drink like 11%. Sweeeeeeeet goodness is this sugary! Smooth, supple, a tiny bit thin in the clear pour. But really earthy and vegetabley, I mean seriously. Weird. I love Regenboog!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours copper/amber with powerful head and no lacing. The nose has scents of carmel and lots of spices. The flavor is sweeter than I expected but you notice the spice and whisky pretty well. The finish lingers and the beer is quite smooth but it is a wee bit over-the-top.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I have to thank my wife for this wonderful gift. With a crack of the cap, I noticed coriander, spice and whiskey. Very light tan head that disappears fast, leaving an opaquedarkish brown liquid. Does not sound to appetizing at this point, but that changes when sipped. Wonderfully spiced (Grains of Paradise, yeast, coriander, and pepper notes). Sweet, but not overpowering, and very rich. This is smooth, and hard to notice the 11% alcohol. Matured in whiskey casks (but for how long?), and I did pickup on whiskey notes, which made this eventastier than the regular Kerst.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle and shared during Cheesehead YeHA in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of dark roasted caramel malt, some apple character, flowery hops and a touch of coriander. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of heavy bread dough, yeast, some brown sugar, black pepper and a touch of peat moss. Finish is quite sweet, brown sugar and high alcohol aftertaste. Try aging this for at least a year and looking forward to try this again.
