3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Moderate aromas of cereal, caramel for the malt, cooked orange for the the hops, dough for the yeast with raisin, date, butterscotch, brown sugar nutmeg and tobacco. Head is average size, fizzy, off-white with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color si murky medium brown with some tiny particles at the bottom. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderate acidic, sour and has a long heavily to harshly bitter aftertaste like burnt coffee. Palate is medium to full, creamy with a soft carbonation and a moderately alcoholic and lightly astringent and dry finish. A very nice smelling Belgian Strong Ale with some heady aromas, but the flavor is a bit harsh.

Over the top out of this world goooood! The nose is pretty weird. I guess it’s the grains of paradise. I thought it smelled like a can of stewed tomatoes and soy sauce. Forget that though. Awesome cloudy brown. I stirred up the bottom and got all the dust. Really blows it up. The flavor is strong and spicy and complex. Nutmeg, coriander, pepper, soy. dark fruit, musty, wood, very very slight whiskey element. This is one of the best beers I have ever had the pleasure to experience! 92 rating is soooo wrong.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A very interesting beer. Pours a nice thick red-brown. Smells great, strawberries and pineapple and whiskey, and maybe even some prosciutto. Taste however, is very different. Extremely smoky and whiskey, pretty intense. Couldn't have very much. Give credit for trying something new, but not a fan of the taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
september 2010. From bottle. pours darm hazy brown with a tan head. The whisky barrel really shows through and numbs other flavors. Roasted malt and dried fruit are present, but it’s all about the oak.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
HMOE 20130331 (33 cl longbottle): The beer pours with a big brown head, a amber colour and tiny particels. The aroma is malty (slight roasted), caramel, raisens, vanille. Also some off-flavour of yeast, buttery and soap. The taste starts sweet with caramel, but also a not-nice small sour taste. In the end some malty bitterness. Furtheer esters, vanille and yeast. The finish is somewhat dry from the sour and bitterness. After a while even some sticky feeling.

Cloudy brown beer, decent tan head. Toffee cream nose. Light dry palate. Toffee cream. Subtle sour and spice. Light whisky. Nice woody tones with a trace of vanilla and aniseed. Very light on it it’s toes for an 11.0% beer.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Great aroma of yeast, spice, and caramel. Excellent cloudy orange pour with a thin vanilla top. Tastes like u scraped ur arm on a dirty stick then put a band-aid on ur arm then licked the band-aid. Good carbonation. If ur into kinda thing, then I would highly recommend this brew.
