Pours to a dark brown color with hints of ruby and a thin biege head that lingers awhile and leaves okay lacing. Aroma was a little faint, but what was there was sweet, dark fruits, raisns and honey. Mouthfeel was sweet and a little flat, and the flavor was more of the tasty dark fruit. Finish was long, but a little on the sweet side as well. Could have had a bit more of a hop balance, but not a bad beer. Nice label too..

Pours hazy brown small head. Sweet malty aroma with overripe fruits. Flavor is very sweet with the presence of raisins and dates. Unbalanced and way to sweet.

33cl Bottle $4.69 West Lakeview Guido is brewed with honey and raisins. Pours a murky amber after I let a little of the yeast slip into my snifter. Two fingers of fluffy off-white head form on the pour and as it settles becomes craggy but without losing volume. The tiny carbonation bubbles keep this head in place throught the session. Excellent looking ale. I really don’t get a whole lot of maltiness in the nose but as it warms there is some toasted grains, although not much. What is there is a melange of candi sugar, floral honey, and raisins. Toward the back there’s a welcomed touch of funk in the form of fields of wildflowers. This beer certainly smells interesting and the aroma seems to be constantly shifting and changing. The flavors aren’t clear cut by any means but do go together well. The flavors are a little muddied but the candi sugar, floral honey, and raisins are all there. A nice caramel maltiness comes through in the flavor that wasn’t there in the smell and really brings things together. There is zero alcohol present. Nicely done. This beer is on the lighter side of medium bodied with a luxurious frothiness as it hits the tongue. The carbonation keeps it light and airy throughout. This beer goes down very easily for the size. The absence of heat helps this one along. Wasn’t really sure what to expect from this but it’s a quality brew with some unique flavors including the touch of funkiness on the finish. I’ll be picking up Guido again. 12/2/07

Bottle sampled. Pours a dark amber with a light beigh head. Aroma of yeast, light malts, dark fruits and some raisin notes. Flavor is highly carbinated with a medium bodied taste of caramel malts, brown sugar, light funk and some spice notes

11.2 oz bottle purchased at Jonathon Ron. Pours a muddy medium brown with lots of carbonation that clings to the glass with a bubbly white head that is on the smallish side considering this is a Belgian Ale. Initial aroma is loaded with sweetness, raisins, honey, sugar, bread, but then changes to a nutty acidic aroma. Medium body with biting carbonation over a vinegarish mouth feel. Flavor of white wine, nuts and grain. Where did the honey and raisins go?? Blah.....

On tap at Three Floyds Brewpub and served in a tulip. This ale poured a dark amber with a thick head of beige foam that slowly disappated into a thin layer of bubbles. Some very nice spider web like lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet dark fruits, apricot, and mildly spicy yeast esthers. The flavor consisted of strong notes of apricot, sweet honey, earthy yeast, followed up by a mild alcoholic note. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied and slightly oily with light carbonation. A very tasty brew. The honey and dates/raisins really provided a nice flavor profile to keep things interesting. Well done!

Pours amber into a Tulip. Off-white micro head quickly recedes to skim surface. Sour pit fruit aromas. Slightly sour honey, raisin cherries and peaches from front to back.

Old rating off a pile of forgotten notes. Pours cloudy copper with a thin white head. Smooth medium body. Spicy raisins and brown sugar in the nose, taste adds some nutty presence.
