3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (10000) - Como, ITALY - AUG 8, 2007
Cloudy brown color; poor head retention. The aroma has a lot of caraml with a touch of fruits. Medium body strength, caramel flavor, with some sweetness and a light sourness, making it refreshing. Good.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OldMrCrow (1415) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 8, 2007
Bottle.
Pours a murky brown; aroma has some brown sugar, some berries, and a powerful nose of beeswax. Flavor is a touch sour along with the sweetness; malt driven, cherry and apples. Neither dry enough to be refreshing, nor sour enough to be sour, but off-sweet enough not to really be dessert either. I’m left lukewarm.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kapusta (86) - Dover, Delaware, USA - AUG 1, 2007
Strange, and possibly bad, but I could not tell for sure. Sourand sweet, but in a bad artificial way. Murky brown color, below average "sour" smell, and strange. Below average for this brewer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 after4ever (4314) - Brier, Washington, USA - JUL 31, 2007
330. Pours deep murky brown with a thick, fizzy white head that falls quickly away to a slim rim of foam. Enormous sour funky nose, almost unbearable. Thick body, but not oily or sticky. Fizzy. Sour-forward attack. Figs, raisins, honey, caramel, and humongous lemony sour funk all over the place on the mid palate. Tangy pucker of a finish. Not a whole lot of fun, but maybe the sour freaks will feel differently.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SSSteve (2923) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 29, 2007
very dark murky brown with a large creamy tan head. aroma is hard to pick up but i notice some brown sugar and raisins and belgian yeast. flavor is lightly sour with notes of grapes, lemon, brown sugar, raisins, cherry, caramel, nutmeg, and cinnamon with a bready finish. i like it. who is this guido character?
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 28, 2007
Dark Brown with Orange Hues...Quickly Fading Off White Head. Dark Bread and Raisin Aroma. Some Subtle Citrus as Well. Very Carbonated...A Fair Amount of Sourness Pops Up on the Tongue..Whether That was Intentional or Not.. Dry Rich Bread Dough, Citrus, Light Spices...Smooth Enough for 8%. Dry Soured Aftertaste. An Odd Brew, but Interesting Mix of Flavors.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2007
Bottle sampled. Pours orange/brown with a decent size khaki colored head. Aroma of fruit, citrus, yeast, and spices. The flavor is citrus, fruit, spices, and the alcohol is present. Decent brew.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cornfield (5240) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2007
This has a cloudy chestnut body with a sustained ecru head... oddly, no lacing whatsoever. It’s got an aroma of sour cherries, dark brown sugar, vinegar, a hint of green raisins, and a mild floral/herbal bitterness. This gets quite tart, nearly sour as you drink it. I realize there are no cherries in it, but the flavor is reminiscent of those that I ate from the Cherry tree that I damned near lived in over forty years ago. That feeling is probably why I’m inclined to rate this higher than the others.
